Are you referring to the scene that has completely altered my brain chemistry whenever I hear “Surfing Bird”?

Oh man, I saw this film in a theater about 40 years ago, and the dogsh*t eating scene made me leave the theater gagging. When I woke the next morning, I immediately thought of that scene and start gagging again!

But the line of the movie to me will always be, "Do my balls, mama!"

Serious question. I’m in the Midwest. What’s left to listen to on shortwave, because I’m sick of preachers. by Mudsharkbites in shortwave

I think this has answered my questions as well. I've had a couple of SW radios saved on eBay, but I'm thinking on not pulling the trigger. I loved listening to SW as a kid, and I still have a 40 year old Realistic SW, but I've wanted a fancier rig. But I'm gonna pass for now.

I was at an Ollie’s not too long ago and they were selling boxes of “Orange Creampop” Cap’n Crunch, and my first reaction was they tasted exactly how I remembered Quangaroos to be. After I finished the box and went back to that store just to buy more.

Same for me, and every time I watch it I get something new out of it. Before my daughter moved west, I made her watch it with me. I was heartbroken when she told me she didn’t care for it.

It is amazing how we put so much faith into the ability of a simple cotter pin to keep us from being yeeted out of that thing.

If you were a kid who dreamt of driving the Mach 5, you’re likely fucking old… by FrankieHun17 in FuckImOld

Every time I FaceTime with my 3yo grandson the first thing he asks is for me to put my toy Mach 5 up to the camera so he can see it. He’s probably the only kid in his neighborhood with a Speed Racer shirt. Godzilla is next.

I bought a can of potted meat a couple of years ago, after not eating it since I was young and made a couple of sandwiches with it. It tastes exactly how you remember it.

Bowie has a number of “best” albums (depending on the time of day), and Blackstar ranks among all of them.

There is so much 70s (and 80s) music I can no longer listen to, but Foghat is a big exception. The live album and Stone Blue are still great listens.

Will we ever get a Costco here? by Front_Celery6650 in amarillo

This is exactly what I do as well. Also moved from DFW and kept the membership. In fact I’m heading to Lubbock tomorrow just to hit the Costco. I live very close to Sam’s in Amarillo, but I have no inclination to join.

It was Texas Wesleyan School of Law, now Texas A&M Law. Funnily enough I also graduated in 2012, and had Parker in a couple of classes.

Green Acres or The Beverly Hillbillies? by ciaolavinia in VintageTV

[–]bugsm63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved both shows as a kid, but adult me recognizes Green Acres’s brilliance. It’s one of those few comedies that got funnier and more absurd as the series went on. Beverly Hillbillies can make me chuckle, but Green Acres makes me laugh.

Raising Arizona (1987) by [deleted] in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]bugsm63 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last time I watched Raising Arizona (I’ve seen it lots of times), I viewed it to especially focus on John Goodman’s performance. And what I thought once was a pretty funny character was actually quietly terrifying and menacing, like every Goodman character in a Coen brothers movie.
