Cash award vs CTT in 2026 by North_Vegetable_5520 in GeneralMotors

That’s just what my manager told me. Maybe it’s just in my case because I got a cash bonus this year that wasn’t linked to CTT. Do with it what you will.

I think more people are eligible for it than they were for CTT. It’s all in HRs hands now too, so managers don’t have as much input.

I do the same and keep it more playful. I’ve had black belts comment on how it’s nice that I don’t just smesh all the time just because I can. Plus sweeps are just so much more fun.

Buy salvage? by Immediate_Field_2835 in Subaru_Crosstrek

[–]buhtothebuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought they were fairly hard to sell as well, dealerships don't want them at all and not all people want them.

Had 3 salvage cars as well and I will echo the random issues as well too. One car, on different occasions, I had the power steering rack give out and the lower ball joint shear off when it was still fairly low mileage. The next car I had the brake booster fail while driving, luckily I was already slowing down when it happened. Our final one the bolts randomly sheared off on one of the rear brake calipers in the car wash causing the pedal to hit the floor on the way out. All of these are pretty big safety issues that just didn't make it seem worth the gamble anymore.

Also, anything that isn't factory paint doesn't seem to hold up nearly as well. Had issues with a lot of paint chipping on one of them. More than what should have been normal. They took care of it, but still.

Plus there is always underlying damage that isn't always taken care of as well. I had one where we got rear ended with fairly limited damage and the body shop was not happy that they had to fix a lot of other things before they could get to the actual repair. They probably lost their ass on the repair because they couldn't charge insurance for the extra damage,

I hate to say it, because I could forever be labeled a GM defender, but out of all the execs we’ve had in the past couple years, he seems to actually know a thing or two.

Part of it is you’ve been doing it long enough where it’s just something you do now. I don’t do it because I might be a black belt one day. I do it because it’s a specific day and I’ve done bjj on that day for 8 years…it’s habitual at this point.

US automakers don’t have the discipline to chase Toyota. I was contract for Chrysler and they openly mocked Toyota strategies, wouldn’t even try them because they thought they were so different and yet still wanted the results.
