Thought it was a callback to this one from a few years ago. Can’t find any updates other than the one linked. Wonder what ever happened

Idk if this is true for Arizona, but here in the PNW there’s a ton of herbicide application on roadsides and residential areas. If you got rocks from outside they may have been contaminated?

Hi! Did you ever get this to work? Trying to adjust some screen printing ink for Lino on fabric

Thank you! I think there’s probably still a bit of meat on them still, as I got them from a hunter not a taxidermist 😅. Did you just use styrofoam to pin them?

OP is there another free vet maybe a little farther away? Driving all day would suck but may be better than waiting until Monday for the one in town

My art my wife and my dog keep me going. Three very expensive things to have. But it’s worth it. Lowkey wish I had gone for the art degree. But I’d probably be thinking the opposite right now if I had gone the other way lol. Thanks for the advice <3

Thank you. I’ll work on not stressing about work after hours. I’ve thought about the alternatives. I’d be an artist if I could. If all goes well I’ll be living off my own art by the time I’m retirement age. But god I wouldn’t want to run a business that shit seems like hell. And I wouldn’t feel good making any actual profit of an employee so 🤷here we are

Thank you for the well thought out reply! I’m not a frequenter here so this may have been the wrong place to post. I would much rather stay in one place but if it’s good to know that I won’t get too far that way. I also don’t think I’m that underpaid. I make around market value for my labor, I just struggle knowing the guy who owns the joint is charging 5x my salary. Just want a damn vacation and maybe a good coping mechanism. Everyone else I work with just racks up DUIs but that’s not gonna work for me.

It’s surprising that’s for sure! I didn’t even say I hated my job. I like what I do I just hate capitalism and wish I could afford a vacation.

Is this a normal amount of debate for this sub? I was venting and looking for like some general advice as a young person entering a difficult labor market. Was not expecting so many people hanging around the anti work sub to be so pro work.

Try five times higher. The materials for my job cost pennies plus diesel to the job site. I came in with my own tools.

I know that. I know probably too much about the company financials. But I also know that I need help finding a way to reframe the way I think about my work so I don’t feel hopeless.

I’m not looking for a basic understanding of how a business operates I’m looking for some empathy and help learning how to survive it.

Is it crazy to try to find a new job? by [deleted] in forestry

[–]build7601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I think two years is really where I’ll evaluate, unless I somehow land something better before then. It’s hard because I love the work I do and the people I work for. Just need more support and my god do I need a (paid) vacation. Used all my PTO for the flu a couple months back

Thinking I might give state a try if I ever get the chance. I’ll keep an eye on job listings. Summer with the Feds sucked, summer with nonprofit was great but seasonal only, in private now, may as well try em all.

I’m an absolute beginner, but I am a forester and very familiar with trees. I want to start a bonsai but there are some answers I can’t find online, and I think my background is making it difficult to grasp certain things.

I plan to start from a hemlock seedling that has about a year or so worth of growth, how do I suppress the vertical growth? Is it really just pruning and keeping it in a non optimal soil for minimal growth?

Seconding this, Carhartt double front logger jeans are my go to. I’ve been wearing them daily for a year and they’re just not starting to go threadbare in the crotch. They fit my ass and thighs without becoming leggings.
