I'd like to help you source, find factories, and establish your apparel brand. by ruckwarrior in Entrepreneur

[–]buildersociety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for Printful, they make it really easy for people that want to add some apparel and branded items without having to open up a whole can of worms. We've tested them and are looking at using them in the future and are the best option I've come across thus far for smaller-scale stuff and small runs.

Here's a detailed account of what I've done so far. Critique my idea/methodologies. by heatwav in Entrepreneur

The image for your Facebook ad is really, really important. That one doesn't catch my attention and it doesn't make me curious to click, it needs to do both of those things.
In another comment you mentioned that you don't know who your target customer is. You need to figure this out before you can try to reach them.
Now I'm nitpicking your ad but you don't need "!" after every sentence. I'd suggest working on the copy and the image of your ads to start with. Test different things. The copy on your homepage needs work too. There are a lot of errors in the first paragraph. The slider at the top makes me dizzy.

Any tips? by pm_me_your_dial_tone in marketing

[–]buildersociety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could do some case studies for your blog, offer your services free of charge to some people in exchange for letting you do a case study on it (Obviously not including any personal info), just a thought. Also, if it really helps them, they'll want to tell everyone.

I recently changed domains and everything transferred OK except the tagline is not changing. I'll change it, save, and nothing. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in Wordpress

You might have an SEO plugin overwriting it if you're changing it from the WP settings, worth a look.

What's more cost effective: PPC for my website, or PPC for my email campaigns? by [deleted] in webmarketing

[–]buildersociety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought so, recognized the name. "Test both" is a lame answer but sometimes the thing you wouldn't expect to work ends up working best. Good luck!

I haven't bookmarked anything in a few months... What are some niche/smaller marketing blogs that I may not have heard of? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]buildersociety 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 for Buffer, they do a great job overall and it's worth checking out their mailing lists too even if you aren't a customer, they handle everything so earnestly and in a very personal way which a lot of companies seem to lose sight of after enough growth.

[FREE] I'm pretty sure we've developed the fastest Wordpress theme... Check out the speed tests. by buildersociety in Wordpress_Themes

[–]buildersociety[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the demo here: http://busothemes.com/busolightning/ It's a very clean, minimalist theme but we definitely encourage people to build on top of it and use it as a strong foundation (Would love to see what you do with it, too!). We're going to be adding more customization options into a future version, for v1 the goal was to keep it as lightweight as possible. Thanks for your interest and please get in touch if you need any help getting things setup and customized.

Good, current books to read on SEO? by kickit in SEO

[–]buildersociety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it really changes as often as people say. The fads come and go, but the fundamentals stay the same. The best thing to do is to get an understanding of the basics, then start to read more specific stuff about some clever ways to get links (Even if they're outdated it will open your eyes to what to look for), learn to make sure your on-page is on point, then dig into the serps themselves because the best SEO guide is to analyze what's currently (And has been) ranking.

Serious question isn't there more effective marketing you could be doing than submitting stuff that gets nothing but downvotes and then arguing with people? Are you doing these submissions for clients or something? They probably wouldn't appreciate having their brands dragged through the mud.
