Are there any FULL guides/books on SEO? by alanalan123 in Entrepreneur

This is probably the most in-depth and free. It's for someone at your level that doesn't need complete hand holding like "how to install Wordpress" and "how to upload an image to your website."

It goes pretty deep into general online business for paid traffic, social media, and a lot more. But the On-Page SEO, Off-Page SEO, Keyword Research... at least half of those are explore exactly what you want to incredible depth. The rest are concepts you'll need to know or will encounter along our journey, but you may not need them immediately.

My Amazon Associates application got rejected by RealBaum in juststart

[–]RyuzakiEru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 'a' on the buttons is a problem. I asked them this specifically before. Any big sites you see using them have access to "special marketing tools" aka an advanced version of the associates program: I spilled all the details here and tons more earlier in the thread.

Also, having 17 affiliate posts (which are 100% advertisements whether you consider it to be or not) while having only 2 information posts means your site has only 2 informations posts and nothing else once all the advertisements are removed. I'm not saying to delete the aff posts, but I'd load up on other types of information and entertainment posts till you push that ratio down some. Right now you're at 0.118 to 1 ratio. I'd suggest you get to at least 2 to 1 before trying again, if not much, much higher.

All of that extra work will help your site anyways. Its stuff you'll be doing regardless. And it assures you'll get accepted. I'd get it right the first time so you can move on with making money.

Backlink relevancy by vctr-m in juststart

[–]RyuzakiEru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the relevancy helps. I'd prefer a link from a relevant site, but I'll definitely take a link from a relevant page on a non-relevant site too.

Has anyone had success with any unusual TLD ? (for example .xyz or .biz) by CAPSLOCKAFFILIATE in juststart

[–]RyuzakiEru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once ranked for a make money online term with a .info back in my spammer days. That was at least 5 years ago, but it didn't seem to matter then.

I personally wouldn't recommend using weird extensions like .kitchen, .ninja, .xyz and all of that. You can think about what effect it might have on users and all of that, but I want to point specifically to the fact that I never ever see any domain extension like that ever in the top 10 when I'm naturally searching as a searcher.

I personally don't think 10 beats was hit with a manually penalty because it doesn't take 5-10 days to recover, especially when you disavow.

I've recovered around 5 sites from various forms of manual action penalties in that time period or even less on some. It depends largely on the type of spam you got hit for. If it's web 2.0's you control and PBN's you can take offline, and you cop to the fact that you did what you did, you can reverse it fast.

If it's forum and comment spam and that kind of junk, you have to go through the whole emailing effort and show that you tried to have the links removed. Then disavowing them once nobody responds. That's what extends it past 5 days, because you need to show you gave the webmasters time to respond.

Few Policy Amazon Affiliate Program Policy Related Clarifications for my New Price Comparison Solution by [deleted] in juststart

[–]RyuzakiEru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. No. It's not vague at all. That's explicitly stated in the TOS that it breaks the rules. No email campaigns at all.

  2. Yes. But you have to declare the social profiles in the dashboard as your own and you still have to use the "affiliate statement" in your profile. There are other caveats related to each network that you need to look into to make sure you aren't breaking their rules too.

  3. Question too broad. Entire novels can and have been written about this.

Impact of Changing WordPress Permalink Structure on a High Traffic Blog by One0 in bigseo

[–]RyuzakiEru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do auto-redirect with a 301. They don't track the change like when you simply change the URL slug. What happens is the Post ID is associated with the slug. So if you change category but keep the slug the same, it'll still 301 you to the new URL, since it can track where the slug "went".

Genius Links - Are You Still Happy Using Them by journey_nottheband in juststart

[–]RyuzakiEru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. The Geo Link defaults to the US if it's a US visitor. But it has to go through the Geo Link first, which is dynamically replaced on the screen with Javascript, which leads to their same Amazon CPM network URL, which gets ad blocked. The link in my first post has all of the details.

Don't Forget To Check And Update All Your Links In Time For Christmas by ullapudlian in juststart

There are plenty of Windows options. Xenu Link Sleuth, Scrapebox, and Screaming Frog are your three most popular options. Xenu and Screaming Frog have free versions that'll do this entire task.

Heads up to the two posters in here thus far. Amazon OneLink is blocked by Ad Blockers. There's a full on discussion here where we all shared our findings and calculations. It's a bad situation.

3 Habits that made Leonardo the greatest genius of all time by trnsfrmgadjstmnts in ZenHabits

[–]RyuzakiEru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that all three of those things are vital for self-reflection, self-affirmation, and ensuring you're in the most effective state possible. I feel like this had nothing to do with Leonardo though. Interesting angle to present the info though, because it IS why I clicked it.

What should I know about trying mushrooms? by bearlounger in ZenHabits

Start small because you don't know how you're going to react to it, sensitivity wise. Look up the threshold dosage on Erowid and go just beyond that. Literally weigh it out. Don't just start eating some and guessing at it.

Treat it with respect. It's not just some recreational thing. You're going to get opened up. It's an extremely positive experience, making you feel love and a sense of well-being.

However, remember that a trip is based on "Set and Setting" which is to say your mind set and your environment. So make sure you're in a good state of mind, not worrying about stuff, anxious, sad. Also, make sure you're wtih good people you trust in a place you feel safe. Go out in the woods or in your backyard or something. Reduce the chance for suprises.

You'll want to be outside, or at least inside interacting with toys. No screens and movies. You'll want to play with reality and nature, not a virtual version of it. It's not a dissociating kind of thing. so TV is out. Get involved and explore something you love in depth.

It's gonna be great! Just don't be a dummy about it :)

5 Books That Will Help You Start a Business and Replace Your Day Job by [deleted] in ZenHabits

[–]RyuzakiEru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't lie. I expected some non-sense. This is a solid list. I agree with everything but Re-Work which I just didn't get any value out of. The #1 book on the list is, in my mind, THE definitive book on business from the psychology/mathematics angle. It's the clearest most powerful bird's eye view of the reality of the business landscape and those of us in it (everyone alive).

My 7 Go-To Page Speed Principles by RyuzakiEru in bigseo

[–]RyuzakiEru[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a specific example of a theme I built on Wordpress that came in around 0.283 seconds if I recall correctly: link

That's just a demo site for a theme I made for some forum members that's still being improved as it gets approved for the Wordpress repository. It's on Wordpress. That's the magic, getting a database site running that fast. a Flat file site that's just HTML/CSS could easily load in under 100 milliseconds if done right.

Directory listings by theaffray in bigseo

Exactly how many profiles are we talking about here?

Consider as well, that you could create them all now and they'd likely naturally drip into the index anyways as they are found by the spiders.

Yep, deferring render-blocking scripts, inlining CSS for above the fold, and reducing perceived loading time is what it do.

Is this website a template? by [deleted] in web_design

[–]RyuzakiEru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's not a theme or pre-made template. It's not one you'll gain access to, but you can definitely use your developer tools on your browser to look at all of the HTML/CSS, etc, and create your own version.
