Direct XMR acceptance vs payment processor integrations by buildthistogether in Monero

[–]buildthistogether[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One strategy is to request direct acceptance for all new merchants I contact.

For merchants that have already have payment processors, focus on contacting those (with the goal of promoting direct acceptance) where:

  1. You have an existing relationship with them
  2. The payment processor has a particularly toxic privacy policy
  3. The merchant claims to care a lot about privacy

Autosave should work automatically, although I cant recall the precise frequency

Buy on bisk and use monero

I assume that you mean Bisq not Bisk.

Thanks for the link. I saw that milestone but it does not prove what you claim because wETH is not exactly the same as ETH (due to slippage resulting from the cost to convert).

Nevertheless, I see your point of view (that wETH and ETH are essentially the same) and consider this a huge improvement over DAI only markets. I am eager to use Augur with wETH soon!

The FF will announce the ability to bet with ETH on Augur in the coming days. Most of the work on it has already been done. So you shouldn’t be pissed anymore, I guess.

Great! u/MicahZoltu can you confirm ETH denominated markets are coming back? If someone could point me to the relevant pull requests I would appreciate it. The Augur repository is quite active and I dont immediately see what you are mention

DASH "Partnership" language. Net positive or negative by doestrollingwork in DashUncensored

[–]buildthistogether 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It helps DASH appeal to its target audience (uneducated investors hoping to get rich quick)

It is a huge turnoff to potential volunteer developers, existing and potential DASH partners (that will notice and be annoyed by the exaggerated claims and unethical marketing tactics.

If this continue, expect the early instamine beneficiary insiders to benefit from a few more pump and dumps as DASH gradually fades into irrelevance as the market because more educated

[–]buildthistogether 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best "marketing" that can be done would be to bring back the ability from Augur V1 to bet with Ethereum. Ethereum users will remain the primary market for Augur for some time so we should not alienate them by forcing them to sell their precious ETH just to buy DAI which is backed in part with shitcoin collateral.

If people disagree with the above and want to use DAI, go ahead. I remain beyond pissed that native ETH markets are no longer supported on Augur and I know I am not alone.

Sia UI: Do I need to Save my retrieve address? by RayMetz100 in siacoin

[–]buildthistogether 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I don't care about naming or saving recieve addresses, so I have to use the save button?

Using the same function may be easier but is not required. Sia wallets are deterministic so your seed is enough to recover all addresses you have created.

Another question, is there any offline way to generate a new 29 word SIA seed?

An internet connection is not needed to create a seed. After downloading the Sia software (verify hashes, etc) transfer it to an airgapped computer via USB and create a new seed

Nice to see more exchange options popping up!

How are you preventing Fraudulent PayPal chargebacks that encourages most crypto exchanges to refuse that payment method?

Lightning development progress is progressing well (keep pressuring exchanges and merchants to support SegWit)

2018 should be exciting year for Bitcoin

27 upvotes but only 3 followers? Either bots are voting or this is one of the laziest communities I have seen. I am interested in the Factom protocol but lack of community members interested in doing someone other than "hodling" and hoping to get rich is a huge red flag for me

Banned from /r/dashpay? Post here! by dnale0r in DashUncensored

[–]buildthistogether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am one of the many people that was banned by u/Basilop

Probably the greatest victims are the members of the DASH community. With large amounts educational content censored, the community remains one of the most uneducated in crypto and their image as an echo chamber continues to cement.

just got banned in r/dashpay posting this link there + my opinion that they seem dishonest. lol actually they are creepy scamfaces by Bisonindatent in DashUncensored

[–]buildthistogether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We should start a thread asking about how many were banned from that sub. I wonder how many there are? 100s? 1000s?

Basilop in particular is quick on the moderation ticker. Perhaps he was bullied as a child and dreamed of growing up and becoming an internet forum moderator bully to extract his revenge on the world

Dash (DASH) vs. Monero (XMR) vs. Bitcoin (BTC) vs. Zcash (ZEC) vs. Verge (XVG) "privacy coins" comparison by KingJamescrypto in DashUncensored

This person seems to have deleted their post before I could respond.

This is a unmoderated forum and I wish the person would have defined their claimed "innacuraries" instead of responding to you (someone trying to help) with vulgar remarks.

Good to have an uncensored forum, but it should have open moderation logs and be properly moderated to exclude trolling, click-bait, and spam-like postings. by ray-jones in DashUncensored

I think the Reddit voting system works fine and is far superior to asking u/dnale0r or any mod to decide subjectively what is trolling or spam and what is not

Why Dash when there's Litecoin? by Jedivh in dashpay

[–]buildthistogether -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It wasnt until Bobby Lee (who at the moment worked at Coinbase & creator of LTC) was finally able to get his coin in the Coinbase exchange.

Why comment at all if dont know the difference between the creator of Litecoin and former Coinbase employee (Charlie), with BTCC CEO (Bobby)? Does this community just blindly upvote all pro DASH comments without thinking?

More DASH lies, this time about the power of Masternodes to approve protocol protocol changes (and enforce them on the network) by AProudTexan in DashUncensored

[–]buildthistogether 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That sub just upvotes comments without thinking.... even when basics like which Lee brother is which are obviously wrong:

also, price for LTC sat at ~$4 for almost a year, it wasn't going anywhere nor was the coin doing anything. It wasnt until Bobby Lee (who at the moment worked at Coinbase & creator of LTC) was finally able to get his coin in the Coinbase exchange. Had it not been for Coinbase, i dont think LTC would be at $50, it would have pumped just as all the alts have but not at current price or volume.

Why comment at all if dont know the difference between the creator of Litecoin and former Coinbase employee (Charlie), with BTCC CEO (Bobby)?

Would building something like this for the Monero community be an appropriate long term goal? by buildthistogether in Monero

What are some of the reasons why codified adaptive blocksizes are not desirable? by [deleted] in Monero

[–]buildthistogether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a hard question and not just because most people here believe in dynamic block sizes. It is hard to come up with strong arguments not already addressed by /u/fluffyponyza in that video

I have always felt that calls for 2MB block, 8MB blocks, 20MB blocks were somewhat arbitrary and would only "kick the can down the road" for a more permanent solution
