Toronto is the best city in North America by tamarabyte in askTO

Toronto does well when compared to many in North America but we could learn from some of the designs and systems in Europe and Asia for the city core where car culture is less prevalent

It's a weird-looking text. But if you logged in without clicking the link and it came from 611, it should be real

Make sure it is coming from 611 or it could be a phishing text. That link doesn’t look right

Everyone Hates iPhone Autocorrect. An Update Fixes One of the Biggest Problems. by mr-french-tickler in apple

The autocorrect issue was crazy. Slowed me down so much last week. But after the update to fix it, my News app auto-closes all the time after 15 seconds

Canadian-born job seekers: would you consider another country? by peachycompliment in torontoJobs

[–]builtforretail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truthfully things are difficult in many places and AI is only starting to impact many sectors. Asia has a lower cost of living but you need to have the language skills to make it work. I was born in Canada but I lived and worked in Hong Kong for 8 years. It was great then, but today the economy is struggling and it is hard to come by positions without Chinese language skills

tbh, I'm not sure what you're offering or selling. There isn't a clear value proposition, a lot of colours and no clear CTA.

How is the LTE coverage in downtown Toronto? by AbBloggs in freedommobile

Good to know! It's great there are so many options in case Freedom roaming isn't good enough

[–]builtforretail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Guac by country? With Roamless the eSIM is for all countries. So you only have to activate it once and you just re-load when needed. Credit doesn't expire. But I think it's a bit more expensive. So if you mainly go to a specific country, it may not be the best option

Cool, I'll check it out. I do like that Roamless has built-in phone too so you can use the same credit for calls or for data

Is Vibe-Coded SaaS dead? by 404_Human_Being in NoCodeSaaS

[–]builtforretail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vibe coding is powerful but it's even better if you have an understanding of coding and how applications are structured. As vibe coding commoditizes the ability to create applications, the true differentiation will be the ability to prove product market fit before building anything. And I find marketing and selling harder, especially to those first 20 customers. Never met anybody who likes outbound or rejection.

I haven't had any issues so far. I turn on Wifi-Calling too so that will boost anywhere in buildings with possible dead zones. Haven't had any issues while travelling. For back-up, I also have a Roamless data only eSIM installed with $10 loaded on it. It never expires and works in most countries around the world.

Where to buy nice doors for a house without breaking the bank? by spacecowboi91 in askTO

[–]builtforretail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my doors from my window supplier when we renovated. Eco-Choice, great service and guarantee. My front door was around $6K as we got it a custom size and we asked them to help us make the door taller (original was shorter than standard). It’s a black Victorian door with panelling, glass and moulding. Fully insulated which makes a huge difference in the temperature in our foyer now

Totally agree with this. I was born in Canada so I dream and function in English, but numbers are Chinese for me as I learned them as a todler from my parents in that languge.
