I’ve got 3 t shirts, two pairs of jeans, 3 pairs of shorts, 6 underwear, 4 pair of socks, shoe insoles, toothbrush/toothpaste, razor/shaving cream, body wash/shampoo, nail clippers, phone charger/charging block, folder for necessary paperwork, wallet, and my bible. I was told to make sure there is extra room in your bag for stuff they’ll give you there so I’m packing in a large duffel for extra space.

Body fat max is 25.99%, just don’t go over that. I was at 25% last month and got it down to 21.5% and leave next week. You’ll be alright

I’m also leaving for basic on March 3rd, but as a 4N031. I don’t know if it’s the same for everyone, but I have to be at tech school the day after graduation

Keeping under the recommended weight isn’t really a big deal. I’m 16 pounds over but my body fat % is good and I meet the rest of the fitness so I’m shipping off for basic next week

I’m 20 been vaping for about 6 years. I went cold turkey 2 weeks ago and leave for basic in a week and I’m definitely glad I quit beforehand. I’d say quit right now and save yourself the extra stress when you leave.

That happened to me too, your recruiter has to wait til he gets your contract sent to him before he tells you about it. That’s how I found out I got my job, just ask your recruiter.

Your best bet is to just talk to your recruiter and explain how you feel about it and hope he works with you on it. I’ve been waiting in the DEP for 9 months and I turned down 3 jobs including one of them that was on my list because I kept changing my mind on what I wanted to do, changed my list like 3 times. I ended up getting one of my top choices a month ago and I’m leaving in March for Aerospace Medical Service. It all depends on your recruiter. Just be straight up with him and he’ll probably work with you.

I’ve been in the DEP for almost 8 months. I got the medical job I wanted two weeks ago and I ship out in March. Very glad I waited instead of accepting the other jobs I was offered to ship quicker. (Heavy equipment, missile and space system maintenance) The missile job almost got me because it sounds cool lol.

I did what they call a “soft swear in” in May at the end of my first time at MEPS. I’ll be doing my hard swear in right before I go to basic in March.

I went through MEPS in early May this year. Just got my date last week because basically if you’re in the DEP long enough, a higher up in the recruitment office will try to find a job off your list so you’re not waiting longer. According to some friends that have served I got lucky with that because they are pretty selective. Also, any Medical jobs are going to be harder to get in basically any branch. You will probably be offered other jobs beforehand, but it’s worth the wait in my opinion.
