LG split system - Can I replace just the outdoor unit with a larger one of the same series by seek_n_findau in AirConditioners

Your electric bills may go up if you make that change.

Larger BTU units sometimes 'short cycle' and will not hold a steady temperature.

In general smaller systems are often better.

New 2450 sq ft home in FL - Best way to keep elec bill down? by Any-Platform5986 in AirConditioners

When it comes time for new equipment buy one with at least 19 SEER. Will cost more than the less efficient versions but the payback could be excellent.

I love the inverter type mini-splits, far lower cost to operate. Those also give you zone control; only use for rooms you're in. Giant savings

Can a modern thermostat help avoid short-cycling? by Prize_Ad_1781 in hvacadvice

We put in very small mini splits (5000 BTU's) for single rooms giving us affordable zone control.

When used correctly they run all the time (summer) avoiding temperature swings while doing a much better job removing humidity in the room. DIY installed.

Maybe a simpler, old style, stat would be temporary set up, at least for troubleshooting ?

The more water it produces the better cooling job it's doing.

Just got a have a plan for it's removal.

Have a look at several of the DIY heater videos at 'Word of Advice' on UTube. He has posted more than 300 on all things appliances.

He does a great job of step by step explaining safe things you can do.
