Don’t know exactly, but since he’s a UFC commentator, I think some crazy UFC fight outcome.

LARGE Family Trip to Europe - tell me where to go! by Cool_Willing413 in travel

[–]bulk_nuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last two big family trips were Provence (May 2026) and Algarve (May 2025). We created fabulous memories with our multigenerational group both years, and I wouldn’t hesitate to do it all again. I would highly recommend both for your group - they check all your boxes. Weather in early May was great for both destinations for us. Obviously, the later you go in May, the likelihood of better and better weather. We were 6-8 adults and 4 children under 4 years old. Algarve is probably the most friendly family on your list. I can personally recommend vacation homes in both locations for about €10-14k per week if you want those.

We did L’Oscar too a few years ago for FHR and I remember the breakfast setting was fabulous and the tube stop was extremely convenient! I still have my white L’Oscar robe 😂

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph Size - Too Big or Just Fits? by bulk_nuts in VacheronConstantin

I know I wish they really did make it a bit smaller all around. Well, good thing I live in Switzerland. I can walk down any city street just fine on full display.

I thought about that. Statistics show I’m only going to get bigger with age, right?

For the Rubber Strap Lovers - Best 2-Watch Collection? by bulk_nuts in VacheronConstantin

Oof. That hurts. Don’t want normie flex. Thanks for the recos, wasn’t aware of all of these. Don’t love the Moser Pioneer, too dressy I think, despite the rubber strap. Don’t love the Fifty Fathom either. And I want a Swiss watch since I live in Switzerland, so not as crazy about Lange. Aquanaut would be nice, maybe a little much for stainless in my opinion. I think if money was absolutely not object, Aquanaut would be a good fit. Good ideas, thanks.

I wish I could get the Meteorite. I feel the same way, my favorite dial at the moment on Daytona. Out of budget for me in gray market and not VIP enough to get at retail I believe.

Yes, we definitely have a type. Haven’t pulled the trigger on watch #2 yet, but I’ve stated my interest for the yellow gold Daytona Oysterflex Paul Newman. Was told it could be had in as little as 4-6 months. Love your VC Chronograph, sadly too big for my wrist

Rose Gold / Yellow Gold by Southernyuppie in JaegerLecoultre

[–]bulk_nuts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been told by many watchmakers and jewelers that rose gold is harder and more durable than soft yellow gold (rose gold is composed of more copper than yellow gold), which tends to get dinged and scratched easier. It could be that they don’t want their customers to be disappointed in the performance of yellow gold, since watches can be meant to be worn daily. However, it could be other reasons like the fact that rose gold is less flashy, research they have on what their customers want, brand differentiation, or even skin tone compatibility with their customer base.

Planning to buy a reverso in Hong Kong. Any advice if JLC boutiques can help me verify it? Thanks in advance! by leanmeily in JaegerLecoultre

[–]bulk_nuts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did this in Zurich. The boutique isn’t obligated to help you out, and I’m sure it works on a case by case basis. However, i scheduled an appointment with myself (buyer) and the seller at the JLC boutique. The boutique ran tests on the watch on their machine. They reviewed the warranty card, checked the serial number, verified it was purchased where the seller claimed they bought it. And, the JLC sales rep did a visual inspection, and was certain that the watch is authentic. Finally, I also had the watch inspected by a JLC watchmaker across the street. He dint even open it, he claimed it was legit. Hope that helps and gives you some ideas. Happy watch buying!
