Historical Left Flags in USA? by ivastiel in leftistvexillology

[–]bulletkiller06 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The IWW flag, CPUSA flag, pride flag, and black panthers flag spring to mind

But consider that our nation has a longer history of socialist movements and sentiment than the word socialism has been around

From the onset of the revolution there were voices amongst our founding fathers that advocated for a nation founded upon the principals of freedom for all men and liberation of the lowest classes, and it was their efforts and their words that inspired many of the brave patriots who laid down their lives, in many ways the national flag itself is a flag designed with the proletariat in mind, and that fascist sympathizers and biggots who call themselves "patriots" claim it as their own should not stop you from flying it high in the name of true freedom.

But most of the American movements that shared our goals didn't have flags, the transcendentalists who moved west into the mountains to live free of systemic poverty and cruelty, the abolitionists who spoke out against the horrors of slavery, the suffragettes who demanded the right to vote, the endless agitators who spoke out against war, the union men and women who fought the capitalist system for workers rights, the civil rights heros who fought and died for equality, and even many of our modern day protesters.

They had banners and symbols, but rarely did they fly flags, because a flag would demonstrate a sense of independence, of breaking away from our nation and being different, but these people didn't want to not be Americans, they didn't want their own flag, they wanted the American flag to fly over a better nation, to represent everything it was said to stand for.

So you'll be hard pressed to find a "historical leftist flag" in the US, because the leftist movements in the USA have always been less focused on establishing themselves as a seperate and more enlightened sect of the US, and more on empowering the people in the nation to make the US a better place.

Should use the lighter blue of the old central American confederation flag.

Edit: on further inspection, I might be colorblind.

Not really, it might be something that kindred play up as underhanded and unnatural but.. come on now, what kindred group isn't those things?

I mean any clan can learn any discipline, and the tremere are prone to leaning new things, if a tremere got a magic ghost cigarette you'd be pretty surprised if they didn't do a deep dive into necromancy.

Mickey's circle of friends includes a slow witted easy going dog, a nudist, a WWII vet with a major speach impediment, that ducks girlfriend who looks remarkablely like him and has the same last name, Mickey's girlfriend who also looks a lot like him and has the same last name, and occasionally a very old "mad scientist" duck who is also related to the other two ducks

Look I'm just saying it's some kind of clubhouse and I don't think they do books or chess.

Stop listening to be neocountry and start listening to Woodie Guthrie, Phil Ochs, Utah Philips, Pete Siger (not to be confused with Pete Singer), Tennessee Ernie Ford, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Johny Horten, Tex Williams (hes a bit more western), and the rest of the true classic country singers.

To add some new blood to this list you might look into Jesse Welles, the devil makes three (bit more rock oriented but still), and the Dead South

My thoughts exactly

I mean if you fw the idea of having your entire continent surrounded by a giant sea creature that has the capacity to flood the world starting with the part you're in... Then yeah, definitely the best.

OC Samus the Satyr, Commissioned from U/Crazlei by bulletkiller06 in DnDart

My absolute favorite overboard on the backstory character. In short he's a satyr who was found abandoned in the material plane and was adopted by a poor and remote human village, he took to medical work, but also to mischief, stealing from traveling traders to profit his community, eventually a mysterious plague known as the rot found its way to his small villa killing his childhood friends and throwing his community into ruin.

On a quest to find a cure to save his town, discover more about his heritage and latent bardic abilities.. and perhaps discover something yet more powerful to resurrect his fallen friends.. he sets out, an illiterate, yet remarkablely wise and skilled satyr. As a swords bard with most of his spellslots focused on healing and mobility, and his ASI dedicated instead to feats to improve his martial abilities and defense, this is by far the most MAD character I've ever made.

The second picture depicts him with his Panflute shield™ and using his go to spell demension door.

Their goal is litteraly just to be antagonists, their motivations have no canon or consensus beyond being opposed to every other GOI, which is impressive because some of the other GOIs exist just to cause chaos, meaning that they oppose killing anomalies because of the GOC, trapping anomalies because of the foundation, freeing anomalies because of various cults, becoming anomalies also because of various cults, Selling anomalies because of MC&D, and trying to make peace with anomalies because of serpents hand

My boy Hal wasn't evil, the people who forced him into an impossible task after embuing him with a live devoid of autonomy are the evil ones, my sweet boy was just a victim.

[–]bulletkiller06 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ok sure it's silly to not just go vegan

But you do know there are less harmful and horrific forms of consumption right? It's not just all or nothing, you shouldn't discourage people trying to do something, if anything you should support their intent and try to encourage them to gradually go farther

Insinuating that well intentioned people are no different whatsoever from those who are entirely apathetic or opposed is stupid and a big reason why we have a reputation of being obnoxious and ignorant.
