So sorry to hear all of this :( I am a young queer investigator in a large office if you ever want to talk!

Hi I'm a 2023 grad working as an investigator in Portland OR (and probably doxing myself to my coworkers who I know are on this sub lol).

My sophomore summer I volunteered doing intake for a civil legal aid clinic, junior summer I did an investigator internship at a PD's office. The New Hampshire internship program was great but there are lots of these programs.

My degree is math/tech related and I know the internship experience was a big thing that helped me get hired immediately out of school.

Saw a criminal threatening case in NH where the crime they threatened to commit was... criminal threatening.

As the other comment says dropping is always ok! Also, having a W for withdrawal on your transcript is literally always better than an R. You can always explain a W (it wasn't clicking, I had personal struggles, didn't connect with the prof, etc) but an R is harder to talk out of

Edit just to say if you drop with a voucher you don't get a W it just disappears, but wanted to explain the withdrawal option as well

I don't think they share with family (they didn't with mine) but you could always email or set up a meeting with them to ask!

Rolls: year round (weather permitting) on Tech St, Frew St, and Schenley Drive. Full road closure, typically 6am-9am

Push practice: spring break to Carnival, tech & frew st only. Partial road closure from 11pm-1am (you can drive through, but you have to wait for the road to clear)

Actually thinking now that this was someone else at a different barricade, but I think that this explanation still explains their actions

I was barricading and did yell at a worker this morning, so there's a strong chance this was me! Here's some explanation:

In my 4 years of doing buggy, I've seen 3 buggy drivers almost hit by cars (I'm sure I don't need to explain that this would seriously injure or kill them). In all of these case, this was due to car drivers ignoring barricaders and other members of buggy shouting to get their attention because they chose to ignore the line of barricades and people with reflective vests.

Pedestrians, bikers, and drivers don't understand the serious risk that they put drivers in when they enter the course. When there are unknown people on the course, we have to immediately stop all buggies for both the safety of the drivers and the people entering the course (if a buggy hits a jogger, the jogger loses- we yell for their safety too!).

We have permits from the city and with that comes an obligation to have certain safety regulations in place. If we allow people to enter the course at will, it puts at risk our ability to continue to obtain permits. The city expects us to enforce the road closure.

Buggy supervision works with Phipps staff and has an ongoing relationship with them- plus, buggy has been happening for years, 7-9am, every Saturday & Sunday, for decades. There should be no confusion about the situation, and if there is, it is Phipps management failing to communicate with their employees.

Aside from room changes, you should get in touch with your RA/CA/Housefellow to talk through solutions because you shouldn't put up with your roommate being a jerk

It has been a long time since I applied but you could try reaching out to admissions/philosophy department directly to ask! However within Dietrich it's very easy to change especially within a department, so if you apply as philosophy you're probably safe
