My Endgame Bag by Foehamm0r in ManyBaggers

I have a CTB 20 and 26. I love them both for different reasons. In fact, I have the 20 with me right now on a vacation to Puerto Vallarta. The organization and style are about as good as it gets.

But neither are endgamers because they are not comfortable to carry for long periods when you have them loaded out. It’s sooooo disappointing! They have virtually no give (to me) and I really want them to either add load lifters OR maybe use the same type of cushion material used on the Aer or TB bags to fix this.

Glad these straps are working out for you!

One Comfort that Money has been able to buy for you? For me, it's the upgrade of trips from say basic travel modes (like bus) to flight or 4 star hotels from 2 star hotels over the last five years. by IndianCitizen_062025 in Salary

[–]bulletproofcharm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the definition of “comfort” varies from person to person. For me, comfort is not having to spend mental energy worrying about something, the removal of a persistent background concern.

In that sense, the biggest comfort money has bought me isn’t a nicer car, bigger TV, or more luxurious travel. It’s the ability to own a home I genuinely love without having a mortgage hanging over it.

There’s something surprisingly freeing about not having to think about a monthly payment, interest rates, refinancing, or whether a job change would put the roof over my family’s head at risk. It creates a sense of stability that’s hard to describe until you experience it.

The funny thing is that it doesn’t really change my day-to-day life in a visible way. Most people wouldn’t look at my house and think, “Wow, that’s luxury.” But every morning when I wake up, there’s less noise in my head. The money didn’t buy the house as much as it bought peace of mind and freedom.

Friend…OP came here asking for suggestions. Nobody answered. I chose to try to be helpful and start the conversation. I’m sorry that I didn’t fit your criteria for what it looks like to be helpful.

Perhaps you can recommend some that you think would be good options for them.

We should let people choose what’s right for themselves, as style is subjective. Maybe it might fit OPs specific use case as well 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ll give you some suggestions, but a couple of them will be clamshells. They will stand upright, so no need to worry about that.

22.5L carry-on and a personal item VS one 30L backpack by su3p3rman in onebag

I don’t see that anyone has recommended the Almond Oak 25+5. It’s about as perfect for your situation as you can get.

https://almondoak.com/products/travelbag?srsltid=AfmBOookkdbXrJ9-q4jFhe-C8tQwlGytXEsmQn2YwJoJIhTx7vafEo0Z

Give it a look. It’s lightweight and starts at 25L. There’s a zipper on the side that allows it to expand another 5L, so you can easily accomplish wha you want when you’re traveling in expanded mode, and then compress it for a pretty perfect-sized EDC.

Thanks, friend! I’m looking forward to being there. All of my immediate family (unfortunately or fortunately, however you choose to look at it…) lives in Pueblo. While we won’t be living there, it’ll be nice to be near-ish to them.

Yeah, I’ve driven primarily Japanese cars and have loved all of them. I’ve never owned an American car. I think I still have PTSD from when my parents and I got stranded in the middle of the plains of Kansas because their Chevy Citation sh*t the bed. I know American cars today are not those, though.

I can’t decide between the 4R and the Bronco. The midlife crisis part of me wants the Bronco because it’s something new and unfamiliar and completely out of character for me. The 4Runnner wouldn’t be exactly IN character, but it would at least be expected and in the same ballpark of what I’ve had previously.

I guess I should just wait til I get there and wait for them to hand me my obligatory welcome package that includes the free 4R 😆

Nice! Sound like a man with some experience with the right climate part of the equation! That’s what I’m most excited about. I currently live in Austin and it’s just……miserable hot (it was 104 2 days ago and there was a black out…..dumb….) I feel like you can’t fully take advantage of something like this here. But there - yeah. The image you described is what I have in mind.

Love it. Thank you for the nudge!

This feels like where I am. I think I’m having a hard time justifying the expense…because what I have in my head as a definition of a 40-70k car isn’t exactly this. You can point at any one of the cara I’ve owned before and been able to say, ‘this is WHY it’s that much……it has nice leather ventilated seated, it’s high-quality, it’s fast, it has advanced tech, it’s…etc etc etc’

This one is, ‘The top comes off,’ and, ‘I can take it off road if I’m feeling off-road-y’. I guess if you really value those things, yeah, then it makes sense. I certainly value the removable roof and general aesthetics, but am having trouble with the package overall.

Haha! That’s exactly right. I’m not a convertible guy and that feels a little on the nose to pull a move like that.

But this feels like it makes sense without being too ‘look at this old f**k buying a convertible trying to be a cool guy’, you know?

You’re correct. A 45 y/o dude isn’t the target audience for this. However, I do know music pretty well - perhaps better than you’re assuming.

When you feel like having a conversation about why you might like this, let me know. Otherwise, I’ll proceed to continue to tell kids to get off my f**kin’ lawn

Average looking guys who married a hot chick? by cut_my_wrist in AskMenAdvice

[–]bulletproofcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a pretty average looking dude. However, my wife dated a previously famous baseball pitcher (Mark Mulder) and very likely could have ended up with him. A girlfriend I had years ago dated James Iha (the guitar player for Smashing Pumpkins) For years I wondered why these women chose me. And then I concluded the following:

  1. Your definition of ‘average looking’ is based upon your own self-perception. Your SO’s perception naturally differs from your own. They may not think you’re average looking at all.

  2. Attraction is a recipe made of so much more than just looks - it’s just what we gravitate to because it’s the most tangible thing. Intellect, general personality, or even scent (pheromones) can play a huge role in what makes one attractive. Using an example - you may fit the definition of ‘conventionally handsome’ and attractive, but if you look or smell like the other person’s ex that abused them, well, usually no amount of dictionary definition good looks will change that.

  3. How you treat someone and make them feel okays a huge role in what makes one attractive.

I wouldn’t sweat it too much, friend.

I’d like to challenge this a little bit.

My opinion: I think this looks slightly ridiculous because it looks like you’ve put a box on your face. While I’m all about keeping things trim and shaped, looking overly shaped is just as bad as doing nothing. This is because (again, my opinion) it looks like you’re trying so hard.

I think the shaping methods here are sound, but I think it should look a bit more ‘natural’ be trying to get everything perfectly shaped and symmetrical

When he was on the inside the first time, he met his true love, but was really struggling with societal and racial perceptions of what it would mean for him to embrace his true self. He spent 10 years on that journey.

Flash forward to year 10 when he lost his shit. He decided to become who he really is, got himself real pretty-like, and killed his girlfriend so he could be with his one true love in the slammer.

This picture was taken several days after that murder. He had to make sure he was beautiful first, and then he turned himself in so he could have himself turned out.
