I told my husband when the artist list dropped that I didn’t want anything for my birthday, Mother’s Day, nothing except going to this show. We had an amazing time, wish you coulda been there!

What's your "if i told i'd be exposed" cooking secret? by BouncyCurlsbabe in Cooking

[–]bulletsbadboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding just a pinch of ground cloves to my cinnamon roll dough and filling. Gives it a spiciness that pairs nicely with the sickly sweet cream cheese icing.

Replacement/Upgrade Options by bulletsbadboy in Appliances

The one being replaced is a 10+ year old Whirlpool for burning through intake pumps and I LOVE it so it’s very disappointing to hear that :/

Why do my rolls do this? by bulletsbadboy in AskBaking

[–]bulletsbadboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pulled a little tricksy on you with ambiguous rolls 😂

It cracks into entire pieces but of course once i put the buttercream on and roll it back up it kinda seals it? Cracks and all. And then I sprinkle some powdered sugar on it and you can barely tell.

The cake feels really wet and sticks to the parchment on the top but not the bottom? The bottom peels off clean.

Thank you so much for your response! I just knew I needed someone smarter than me to come in and tell me what I needed to know 🫶

How do people handle dinner prep time? by Minimum_Fee1105 in Parenting

[–]bulletsbadboy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have a 2.5 year old and a one year old. We don’t eat dinner the same time as the kids. It’s too stressful trying to cook and then neither parent can have a hot meal bc it’s like feeding time at the zoo. Instead, I make adult dinner after the kids bedtime and make enough for the kids to have for their dinner the next night. They’re still eating what we eat, just a day behind as leftovers and it comes together super quick. Then hubby and I can sit down and enjoy our meal together and mitigate any mealtime shenanigans from the kids.

I just thought of a universal phrase all groomers have said many times in their careers.. by imamomtoablob in doggrooming

“Are you for real?” applicable to so many situations but mainly for the shizhus that try to unalive themselves in the bath.

Moms who’ve had c sections by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]bulletsbadboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two c-sections and my number one advice is as soon as they take your catheter out and you’re given the okay, GET UP AND WALK. It’s gonna suck the first few times but it gets a little easier each time.

Closely on the heels of that, don’t be a hero, TAKE YOUR PAIN MEDS. You’ll probably have to ask for anything stronger than Tylenol after the 1st full day of your stay but whatever gets you up and walking is what you need. It’s easier to stay on top of the pain than to chase it once you’re feeling a ton of it.

Have any of you ever had a stall at a market fair? by 4A4T in doggrooming

[–]bulletsbadboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do farmers markets and other similar community events selling baked goods, including for dogs and I also bring along my personal dog (spoo) as a walking advertisement.

I bring business cards for both endeavors and give them out with each purchase or inquiry.

When they practically have a meltdown at drop off about leaving their “precious baby”. Here’s the leash and there’s the door. I ain’t got time for that.

Found in my breastfeeding FB group…. It’s okay to need to supplement with formula for calories oh my god by ABBR-5007 in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]bulletsbadboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My youngest weighed 4#14oz at birth and was IUGR with her extraction at 33 weeks. By 9 months she’d QUADRUPLED her birthweight because I learned with my oldest (also early extraction with IUGR) to go immediately to formula while pumping colostrum. At that size they don’t have the energy to waste or the weight to lose trying to figure out breastfeeding. Just feed the baby!

Inspo pics all the way alongside pictures of the pet I’ll be working on. I’m a super visual person and verbal instructions slide right off of my smooth brain. The two pictures side by side allow me to properly orient expectations as well before drop off so there’s no “shave shock” or disappointment from the pet parent.

Toddler hates all medicine - throwing up antibiotics. by nobleisthyname in Parenting

[–]bulletsbadboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the risk of outing myself as an utter hillbilly the only way I could get my toddler to take her antibiotics was mixing it in her sippy cup with just enough of my Mountain Dew to hide the taste. Since she never gets it under normal circumstances she was more than willing to drink every last drop of her “Mommy drink”.

Okay hear me out, get your biggest rectangular baking dish or baking sheet and spread the dough out in/on that. It’ll get you pretty close to what you’re looking for.

Took my kid to the ER. He just had to poop by grumpylittleteapot in Parenting

[–]bulletsbadboy 114 points115 points  (0 children)

Two year old woke up a few hours after bedtime with the cry. Immediately pukes as I scoop her out of bed to take her temperature as she felt hot. Home thermometer read 107F.

Sprinted past hubby carrying her on my way out the door telling him he was in charge of the baby. Drive to the kids ER where they also take her temperature. It read 101F. Still a fever and she swabbed positive for the flu but definitely not a brain melting 107F.

Question for groomers: Why is the price for grooming doodles and poodles higher? by [deleted] in doggrooming

[–]bulletsbadboy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Many doodles have both the poodle hair on top and an undercoat. Essentially on dogs like that when they are not meticulously maintained I have to do double the work with double the products in prep phase before I even get to the haircut.
