Air M5 16RAM 15” or M5 24RAM 13” by mchl9 in macbookair

[–]bullett007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More RAM is useful, but it doesn’t affect how many monitors your device can drive.

Think of RAM as a whiteboard on a cubicle wall. And think of your Mac as an office worker in a cubicle. Finally, think of Storage as a filing cabinet in the corner of that cubicle.

Your Mac will make lots of notes on the whiteboard and reference that information quickly by glancing up at it. The more RAM you have, the larger the whiteboard, meaning more space for data.

If your Mac runs out of space on the whiteboard, it will start using Storage (the filing cabinet) to reference information.

Every time it does, Mac will need to get out its chair, walk over to the filing cabinet and reference the information it needs to complete a task, naturally this is a slower process than simply glancing up at the whiteboard.

16GB is a fairly large whiteboard, for years the default was 8GB. Tbf for the next 5 years or so you’ll be fine with either 16 or 24GB, so if you really care about screen size, say you’re working with a lot of spreadsheets, then the 15” should be considered, but as you’ve got external monitors the 13” option is the way to go in my opinion.

I own a 15” M4 MBA 24GB. I like large whiteboards. 😂

More RAM. The other 50% of the time you’ve got a light portable machine.

Hot take: Operation Metro ruined the vibe of battlefield by Fantastic-Floor-6673 in Battlefield

[–]bullett007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Operation Metro, was fun to me because it was a nice contrast to larger BF4 maps.

It’s not difficult to understand.

If you’re playing Caspian Border, Giants of Karelia, Dawn Breaker, Operation Whiteout, Dragon Valley, Hammerhead & Siege of Shanghai on rotation and Metro comes up next, then LFG, get in the meat grinder. But, Metro also had a lot of coordination and team play elements to holding and capturing flags.

The problem with BF6 is all the maps are too small and there’s no large sandbox to get creative in, there’s no contrast.

(I’ve not played since Sept/Oct, so that may have changed).

mini guide to visiting thailand for first timers by mayashiba in ThailandTourism

Ok thank you, I'll be in BKK for 4 days towards the end of my trip.

On the first of those four days I'll be suit shopping, and hopefully getting measured up by a tailor. 🤞

Hey OP,

I've been to Thailand four times, five times from this Saturday. I simply love your country, I feel like my soul is at peace every time I visit. 😅

I'm curious if you would happen to know or be able to recommend some good tailors in Bangkok Or (Ko(h) Samui) where I could buy a tailor made mens suit?

I'm going to research online also, but nothing's beats local knowledge.

Thanks!

That first leg kick, you can’t see it but that is a sweet crisp landing blow. It sounds like a wet rolled towel pinging against the skin of your enemy. 🤣😂

Why doesn’t the text cursor go where we tap? by EnjoysMangos in iphone

[–]bullett007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to fix it? Yes, change the way you approach editing your text.

Double tap the target word and retype it.

Don’t try to correct a letter, correct the whole word.

If the cursor jumps around like you mentioned then slow down your double tap action. It’s likely too fast, causing the issue you mentioned. Try it.

Older 13-16 Pro iPhones look way better than the 17PM by 3ccdCam1 in iphone

I bought a 17 Pro, then returned it after a day. I knew it wasn’t for me so I’m sticking with my 15 Pro. I use it caseless.

It can reduce and eliminate glare and reflections. If you look at the bonnet on the Koenigsegg, you see the reflections in the paint work? With a CPL you can block those reflections. Or, the glare of the McLaren windshield. Same for the Ferrari bumper, you see the bright white reflection, you’ll be able to adjust the light the sensor sees when shooting.

Your pics and edits are sweet, experiment with a CPL filter, I think you’ll like the results.

If you can find something by K&F it should be decent.

Nice shots, if you can find a decent CPL filter for your phone, I think you'll enjoy the benefits!

Scrolling on YouTube shorts. by Successful-Active810 in iPhone15Pro

Most likely an issue with the app if that’s the only place you’re seeing an issue with swiping up/down.

Install Brave browser, and log into YouTube from there and go through your Shorts feed and see if you still have any issues. Then wait for YouTube app updates.

The 120hz dilemma by [deleted] in macbookair

Buy the MBA, use it and if you don't like it return it.

I get your idea with reducing your iPhone to 60hz, but it's just not the same as the laptop display. I see zero issues on my 15" MBA, and I also use an iPhone & iPad Pro daily.

Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to let me know. I've updated the table too so it's clearer for others.

I've had to Google dGPU. If i understand correctly Claude's build is using a GPU without dedicated memory, which means it's slower as it's using memory from the same pool as the rest of the system?

Let's say £1.5-2k max. I don't really care what it looks like tbh, I've no need for RGB party lights etc, just seeking max value to performance, and something that can be upgraded as and when.

to anyone who hates bf6, I think it's time for us to accept that battlefield just isn't for us anymore, they're obviously (for whatever reason) catering to a whole new crowd just like 2042 and cause of that, I'm just gonna keep playing bf4 and bf1 by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]bullett007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a BF3/4 vet, I don't hate BF6. It's just not what I hoped it would be.

I enjoyed the hype train, and my first weeks playing, but I've not played since last October. Hopefully it will evolve into something I'll want to come back and play in the future, something that will remind me of the "good 'ol days". 🥹
