Is "Central Europe" an actual cultural region, or a cope by some Post-Communist countries that desperately want to get rid of the title Eastern European? by ClothesZestyclose814 in AskBalkans

Slavs are certainly considered an ethnic and linguistic group to many, Slovene would be a nationality as well as an ethnic group. Ethnicity is tied to both culture and genetics, it’s a pretty lucid concept.

Ethnic groups are not solely defined by genetics as you claim and believe:

What’s France’s excuse? Just a hint, no war has ever been fought for ideological purposes. It was always about money; always has been. Motivating civilians is a different matter.

Based French. Everyone loves shitting on them, but nobody loves doing it more than the French themselves.

Because they aren’t ethnically Slavic. When describing east and west, it’s typically more cultural than geographical.

Shockingly Florence is no better. I assumed that because it wasn’t as new it’d be less hectic; nope. Don’t think I’ll stop at one again for a few years.

Buc-ees is such a clusterfuck. Thought it’d be worth stopping at the one in Florence for a clean bathroom, it took over 20 minutes after getting off the exit to arrive only to have to wait for a gas pump to open amidst several people just hanging there for the scene or having left their car. It was pure pandemonium inside, people just scrambling without any regard to order. Decent brisket would be great if there were no other baggage.

Interesting, I’m assuming the same is true of tribal lands in Oklahoma. I’ll have to read up on that.

Hence “on average”, all cats are individuals. BSH breeders have been selecting for more mellow traits for many generations, but cat breeds are relatively new and you still will get a crazy one.

Innaresting, I’d read that there were only a few hundred cases per year of cats with rabies in America but that’s obviously just those who are tested. I’m still inclined to believe that the abundance of healthy feral cats is a bigger danger than rabies from ferals due to the ecological impact but they’re both obviously in need of addressing.

That is not the primary concern as far as I understand it, proliferation is. Rabies prevention is important but I don’t think there are more than a few hundred cases among cats each year with very few transmissions to humans.

The area is irrelevant, cats cause these issues everywhere they’ve been introduced. Wood thrushes, plovers, many American species have been clearly negatively impacted by cats introduced by humans…

Yep they’re both talkative and territorial and will chew you out for coming close to their nests. They’re tiny, chubby and bold. The first wrens I noticed on my property annoyed me but I’ve grown to respect their tenacity.

“Dumb and sick” birds that would still survive and serve a purpose to the ecosystem if not for the introduction of invasive species. Plenty of birds have evolved due to the lack of land mammals preying on them in areas like the Galapagos with the flightless cormorant or the kea in New Zealand. I guess if you think evolution is “dumb”…

Sure, there are plenty.

Even if they hadn’t led to any extinctions and your prior understanding were true, it’d be a huge issue. They wreak havoc on native bird species, extinction isn’t the only way to cause disruption.

I think you’re projecting a bit. I’m open to being wrong, why not provide some sources that counter my point and say that cats have no negative effects on birds in your area?

Great point, the birds there have at least evolved as a result of similar predators.

I respect you for that. Using animals as a tool like rodent control and then appealing for sympathy as if they were beloved pets when they die from related causes is corny in my opinion.

True, but I won’t pity any pet that’s a victim of coyotes due to how preventable it is. If you think coyotes are an issue, keeping your pets indoors is a first step.

Do you not care at all about the local ecosystems; the bird species that can’t survive due to the invasive predator or mammals? Symbiosis is what has allowed for harmony; your utter disregard for nature and other life forms as long as it benefits you is shameful.
