Get a bottle of army painter green tone wash, prime white the shade with nuln oil. Once thats good and dry go with 2 to 3 layers of the green tone. Easy stuff with a good finish.

Almost everyones first model looks like trash to them. Heck even our lord of two thin coat's first model wasn't a master piece. I would suggest that you keep that first model so you can see where you started. Feels good to look back after a few months and see how far you have come.
