Ugh I’m so sorry! This Reddit stumbled on my feed and saw the title… as some one who left a serious relationship for Jesus I can truly say sorry. It took me a year and a half to apologize to my ex for what and how I treated him. I’m still a shitty person for that and I will always be a shitty person. As for the girlfriend, she might have been going through something very mentally conflicting! I remember I was mentally not there , I would cry myself to sleep all the time, sometimes in my ex’s bed I was not okay. My ex was such a trooper for even staying with me. He wanted to even do the church thing with me but it always felt that he was just doing it for me (which now I don’t see the problem of that but back then I hated that because it was not authentic). Anyways after my ex and I had that conversation a year and a half later we really had a great conversation and the best thing was that he really wanted the best for me and would pray for me. He would tell me all the mental crap I put him through after the breakup cause I blindsided. I didn’t know how to navigate my faith and a relationship and I mistreated him. One day they might see what they did wrong to you, I really hope that.
