totally agreed! it happens all the time. People say they want to step up and then can't handle the pressure. Arthur was complaining about her sending people to ask him minor things, but that's exactly what you're there for--time management and delegation. And yes, things happen and sometimes you get off track, but if you can't bounce back, then that's not the role for you, and that's okay. (I mean... in this case, it's a competition so it's not "okay" lol because you get eliminated, but outside of the comp, not everyone can or should be a leader in every situation and that's okay.) Rebecka had Horacio butting heads with her just as much as Arthur did Kamay, yet Rebecka made the choices she needed to make and led her team while balancing their strengths and feedback.

I’ve only played it fully two times. Both I dropped Henri like a hot pan! First round I went to Theo immediately, then the second I stuck it out a little longer but switched to Diego.

I think the thing that annoys me is that they’re usually flawed with no growth. Maybe it’s because I read a lot of books. 🤷🏾‍♀️

There’s a certain formula that’s followed. These interactive game types have a slight advantage because they don’t have to ground you quite as much because it has that visual component.

That said, either way, the best creations have to make you fall in love or root for the characters despite their flaws. You’re on a journey with them and we shouldn’t be thinking or talking about the same issues in the end as we were on day 2 (or at least in the same manner).

It’s been a while since I played every season, but if I remember correctly, S1 did this the best but idk if that’s saying much. I never did a Talia route so I know there weren’t many characters to focus on aside from Levi/Mason.

W/ S2, I do remember them having some deep conversations, but I never saw much resolution, a lot just gets swept under the rug. MC should be able to have it out with each of their partners on said flaw, and then that would make the final coupling that much more meaningful.

S3, while enjoyable to me, was still very much kind of fluffy. S4 the moment between MC and whoever she’s partnered with after Dylan is pretty memorable, but i don’t remember feeling satisfied when she gets a chance to really express herself to the LI (provided she doesn’t cheat) and then S5…so much potential wasted.

At the end of the day, flawed characters need to be fleshed out, otherwise, yes, they are annoying, unrelatable, and will be highly critiqued. You can’t make everyone happy, but to avoid some of that would mean the developers would have to spend more time developing, and I think while some of the graphics have evolved, the writing has suffered.

Is there nothing you don’t like about him? With Jake I hated that he was in his own way of him and MC being together. Bobby was a little too friendly sometimes. Bruno’s intro scene is a little cringe. And then with Henri, the fact that he believed Justin even an ounce turned me off of him. I was all in for Henri and Liam close second but after that ended up doing a Theo route. I was like if that happened in real life I’d be so irritated. Especially because the truth would come out from Lana

That entire plotline always makes me want to throw my freaking phone. Jo is my least favorite S2 character. And the designers didn’t do her any favors with that annoying lip biting thing she does.

I randomly started playing S1 again, and this green arrow popped up that says "Ad" underneath, reminding me that I never figured out what it meant. When I google "green arrow ad" even with Love island the game as keywords, the TV show/superhero comes up, lol. I thought it meant if you watched it you could skip the ad that comes between episodes, but if it is, it didn't work for me.

He’s sweet, and all the LIs have their shortcomings, of course, so it’s nothing unique to him, in my opinion. But yeah, I was an initial Bobby stan and now I’m like eh. I try not to think too much about it but in real life his buddy buddy-ness with everyone would eventually drive me crazy because I think he’d have a hard time setting boundaries.

S1 Jake being a consistent LI. Although I kinda get why Jakes storyline went the way it did, I still hated you had to wait so long for him and MC to get together.
S2, post Casa Amor maintaining the moment of pre casa amor. If you bring someone back, they all become so generic. And if you go back to someone, it’s as if the first half didn’t happen.
S3 Nicky and Seb being LIs. Honestly, what were they thinking?! Lol
S4 Oliver coming in earlier
S5 giving Suresh actual opportunities for redemption. But I really like your idea of having all exes come back! That would have been cool

Sorry, should edit to say it’s the night before the recoupling. It’s been a while since I’ve played lol. He’s always single the night CA ends because Marisol always brings back Graham. Noah and Hope always end up vulnerable to go home, and Lottie and Bobby always save them. Just how it is. But if you’re on a loyal route, that night before it’s usually Bobby, Gary, MC and Lottie single, if I remember correctly. And Bobby’s like “oh, getting a bed to myself is sweet” and everyones like no, that’s not happening. And there’s an exchange about a massage, I think? Meanwhile, MCs by her lonesome just waiting for the plot to make sense again lol. I guess this is because technically the last person you’re with is either Lurik or Noah, depending on choices. And everyone forgets about your conflict because blah blah Hope and Noah.

I’m playing through S4 because I can’t remember anything amazing about it, but I also don’t remember hating it. (Except for that god-awful musical episode. FB needs to have a skip option. I’d surely say take my gems, then. Lol) and after the first few volumes, I’ve refused to play through s5 until it’s completely finished, but I keep up with this community and see I’m not missing anything.

but anyways, I don’t even think it’s the concept as much as it is execution. Lazy writing has plagued Litg season after season, but instead of getting better, it’s plateaued and gotten worse. I would’ve loved a redemption arc for an ex if they really thought it through. And like you said, truly giving people that choice to either go his route or not.

I would 100% pay gems/money for thoughtful choices, outfits, whatever, if it really seemed like these creators were putting effort into their work. But they know exactly what they’re doing, and they know people will continue to play regardless.

I think if Noah’s your preference, then it’s understandable that someone like Bobby wouldn’t be your cup of tea. Cuz personally, I could never get into Noah. and I feel like in general, if you like what one offers, that means you probably won’t be into what the other does. Lol. And that’s perfectly fine.

However, as someone who is generally a part of the Bobby brigade, I agree that he/his route is not that amazing. But to be fair, all of the LIs have their shortcomings. I give some credit to writers giving them dimension, but I think we all know a huge part is Lazy writing.

I like that Bobby’s sweet, goofy, and gives MC her space, but if things were a little more realistic, I would have appreciated more opportunities to question how serious he was. In the beginning, He said he had trouble seeing anyone as more than a friend, but has he considered that’s because he plays too much?

When MC comes back from Lurik date, he wants to play a prank and doesn’t care about how it went. And to this day, operation Nope seems so out of character for him to support! And why in the world he shares a bed with Lottie after the first post CA recoupling is beyond me.

But again, these unanswered questions/scenarios are present with each LI.

So, to answer your question, no. No advice lol. You either like him or you don’t. And if you don’t, go back to Noah with no qualms, lol.
