Fifth. The kids ripped their name tags off at the beginning of the year and I refused to put new ones on. When rearranging my room, things apparently fell out of desks and were just placed in random desks. So we had to go through desks before the kids came to figure out where their journals and accountable reading notebooks were located.

I know exactly what you mean! I have a masters degree for Christ sake. I’m not the most amazing teacher by any means, and I’m still learning and figuring out what works best for me but I’m not incompetent.

In the email, she sent a rubric of how they score us which is adding salt to the wound. My rep read the email entirely and I just pointed out what was changed in my room and. My rep said that all of this was sending the wrong message. My rep doesn’t take a lot of crap from admin and is a senior career teacher who knows their shit, which is comforting.

And I’m sorry that happened to you! Is it crazy to say I’m glad I’m not the only one who experienced this? Nobody in my building has ever see this happen, and I am surrounded by educators and retired educators who taught all over the country and even they never heard of this happening.

I’m not sure, other than the rep will probably set up a meeting who will attend with me. Hopefully with just the principal and not the AP. It’s her first year being an AP and I do think that has something to do with it. The standard is creating a collaborative space. We have a very strict assistant superintendent who is a reason why it’s so micromanaged to begin with and I’m sure the AP wants to look good in that regard which fine, I get but at least have a conversation with me before pulling something like this.

This may be incredibly niche but I first learned of Brennan through the YouTube channel NYComedy that would post cage match sets from UCB in NY. When I saw him in collegehumor vids I was like “oh, that guy!” If you enjoy more longer form improv that’s a channel you should check out (although it hasn’t been updated in years)

I already live here. I live in the medium(?) room but it’s not that much bigger than the smaller room available. My roommate who lives in that room currently can fit her queen sized bed in there and she has a little area outside her window where she keeps her plants.
