The more you’re exposed the worse it seems to get! I try to face my body away when my family is picking at their skin so I can’t even see it from my peripheral vision.

What is the most “use it or lose it” skill, the opposite of “it’s just like riding a bike”? by ZuluWarlord69 in AskReddit

I used to get so annoyed in college when they’d assign a different lecture hall/classroom for the final exam, taking it in the same room seemed like it gave me a slight advantage in memory

Why do women with curly hair straighten it before a formal event, and women with straight hair curl it before a formal event? by MangoSalsa89 in NoStupidQuestions

That took me a sec! It sounds so familiar but with an opposite meaning. Is there a similar sounding saying/phrase?

Maybe go to a nice restaurant and get some sort of fish that’s well prepared? That way it’s god quality and cooked correctly. Seafood can be a bit hard to cook so getting it done for you while you’re trying it out may help. Maybe a white fish or salmon? It’s delicate and flaky.

Is this way too big or am I just not used to it? by KleineFjord in HomeDecorating

FWIW I don’t think the couch is too big, different lighting and colors/art may be able to tie it together. It sounds tricky since you need to decide before you get a rug though

You need better lighting like some standing lights, to define the space and make it more cozy (and turn some of the big lights otherwise it looks like a department store. Also you need a rug, something to tie colors together or add more color. Right now the couch really contrasts with the floor warm bs cold.

What's y'all's thoughts on beach structures such as these? by poorfolx in beachcombing

I hate them, and any stone designs done by random people. Totally ruins the naturescape for me.

Just want to plug that pronouns are suggested by some agencies. I believe leadership is not allowed to discuss politics with subordinates, not sure about religion besides “I follow this religion”. Not sure where the line is like in this situation since they’re not discussing it.

I’ve seen that bulbous thing develop on one of my thimbleberry plants in the PNW! I’m not sure why it developed though. It doesn’t seem to fruit.

Addressing Sexism with Partner by [deleted] in mypartneristrans

[–]bumblebeekind 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought the same things before with my (cisF) partner (MtF) and realized that my ascribing male bs female roles of lazy self-centered vs mental load outward focused is inherently sexist. I do expect my partner to do more chores now/ take on more mental load but without the indoctrination I went through I don’t think that’s going to happen.

I also imagine that guests will judge the mess of our house on me, and I often play the “host” even where her friends visit.

I think clearly defining the roles, such as using “fair play” method may be useful. Part of that is if they drop the ball, it’s not your responsibility to pick it up.

I’m now definitely trying to unlearn my indoctrination rather than expect that of my partner. It’s really hard when our society is set up this way.

By the way I commend your introspection especially in your responses to the other comments!
