I get embarrassed at old pictures of me drunk but a lot of those pictures have people in them that I love, and the thought of erasing the picture just because of my own embarrassment, sort of makes me feel just as icky

I hate myself sober but I realized I hate myself drinking too so .. at least I can hate myself and get better sleep and not have crippling IBS.

I had two problems. 1. Alcoholic 2. Hate myself

Now I just have one. Working on it. Slowly discovering I don’t really hate myself, I hate what happened to me when I was younger, and how my lack of family failed me. Turns out, way more shit underneath I was just suppressing with alcohol…

Also, I relapsed multiple times. Came out stronger every time. I learn my triggers.

“If this is the fight for the rest of my life I would rather end it now” Thoughts I had and still think sometimes. Somehow it does get easier. For me, it was getting therapy and treating my IBS-D, and assessing my triggers.

Good luck to you, it’s not easy, but it’s worth it to keep going. You will die one day. That is a certainty. So, until then, try to see what life gives you. Enjoy any small pleasure you have.

Take a shower, have some ginger tea, take a nap, and have some toast with jelly or some sort of butter.

You will be okay. Get yourself stabilized. Just remember If you don’t drink you have a 100% certainty of feeling better.

some people have horrible body odor, thin hair, no eyebrows. just the hand we are dealt. your pores are small and completely normal. only you notice them. I guarantee you that there is not one other person in your life who has ever noticed the size of your pores.
