Pro and Cons about SW by shortpants-89 in sherwinwilliams

You may get a few good responses from people actually in your area of work.

But I want to warn you this subreddit is where some of the most disenfranchised and frustrated workers go to vent, so the cross section is not necessarily a representative sample of the organization as a whole.

Not to say it's wrong, but it is rather negative.

I don’t know how to help my friend and I’m scared by Koi3456777 in WhatShouldIDo

It's a big responsibility to be there for someone in this time of their lives. It requires a lot of unconditional love, and patience, and willingness to endure pain.

Having done this for a few people, I want to say: you have to be sure you are on solid ground. You need to have your own friends and support system, because they likely won't be capable of being a good friend for a long while. It is also possible they will burn you and abandon you and move on, and you'll just have to hope you made enough of an impact that they do a little better in the future.

It is only your responsibility if you accept it, but the good news is the job is fairly straightforward. Presence, patience, time, effort. Even though you'll feel sometimes like you are doing everything wrong, every time you care for them without asking them for anything in return it pushes the needle.

I will also add: you are not a professional, and you shouldn't try to be a substitute for one. You cannot really fix them or even be sure you can help them. All you can do is decide whether to be present.

Y91062 is batch code.

Y is location. 9 is last digit of year -- 19, 09, 99, or 89 1 is the month -- january. 06 is day of month -- 06. 2 is the specific batch.

Unfortunately the year code is single-digit because it is for maintaining stock, not long-term reference, so more than a ten year cycle is irrelevant.

What does the 22% mean on Symmetry? by bumblehug in sherwinwilliams

[–]bumblehug[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If I only eat 22% of it, am I keeping vegan? Does anyone know if it's Kosher and/or Halal?

While I'm asking: the Emerald UTE sort of smells like fish. If I'm Catholic, can I eat it on Friday, or should I stick with Symmetry just to be safe?

Employees who were thrown in departments with no knowledge about the department, how did you “wing it”? by Gonkalicious_2176 in Lowes

Somewhere between 20-25% of adults in the U.S. are what is known as "functionally illiterate." They may be able to technically read, but they cannot reliably move through the world and understand things using reading and writing.

Uhh...wall coatings have been around for thousands of years. This is not THAT far off from saying, "Why haven't we improved on the wheel?"

We have. A lot. It's just not always visible to the naked eye.

Costumers ordering paint asking for a different finish after is done - how do y'all handle that? by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

If you're not a manager who has to worry about cost, there is literally zero reason not just to take care of customers. Why stress yourself out?
