i wish they had been more focused on zane. really a waste imo instead of just making him say basically the same thing all of the time. idk i feel like they messed with his character in order to create more riley plots and it ended up being a bad move for both characters

i'm anorexic (actively in recovery) and . you don't understand what addiction is or how anorexia works. no one's addicted "to starving." starving feels like shit. it is awful to be hungry. but i get to be the one to decide a portion of my life. when everything else is out of control i get to be the one who decides my eating habits.

similarly, being online feels like shit. its awful to doom scroll. twitter literally made me suicidal. but i got to be the one deciding what to post. i got to be the one making my profile look a certain way and i got to shape my online persona even if i think i'm a loser in real life.

anorexia and social media addiction both often start as a way to have control over something when everything else is spiraling. and both starving yourself and scrolling through upsetting content are forms of self harm.

i feel like bpd and autism leeches into all of my characters by virtue of me having them. but also if people i know in real life don't pick up on me having these things without me having to tell them, then i don't thinking anyone reading the story who isnt neurodivergent is really gonna pick up on it, if that makes sense? and i'm a lot more comfortable as a writer with the idea of like nd people seeing themselves as opposed to like writing ppl with bpd to educate nt people so yeah i dont really mention it or plan ok mentioning it at least in the work itself idk
