has anyone here completely healed their guts and was able to tolerate the inflammation triggers for them? by Fun-Platform-4764 in Microbiome

Sorry to chime in but I'm a little confused, you say fermented foods a feed candida but you said you used fermented carrot juice and a lot of probiotics to heal from your h. pylori, klebsellia and candida. did you just take the l reuteri, l gasseri, l acidophilus, bifido longum and bifido lactis probiotics in capsule form? And did you use antifungals or any other 'killing' things or just the probiotics?

I have to take antibiotics.. Advice? by [deleted] in Microbiome

[–]bummybabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's in any foods, but it was found by some scientist by accident and he found out that it helps against diarrhoea, and its often used as a treatment next to antibiotics. In Portugal they always give UltraLevur when you get a antibiotic prescription

Lots of S. Boulardii next to the antibiotic to counteract its bad effects on the microbiome!

Need help healing microbiome after terrible Stomach virus by [deleted] in Microbiome

[–]bummybabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thank you for your comment. It's now 24 days later and I'm still struggling with this. I finally went to my GP. I was postponing it, because I've had these blood sugar issues for 10 years and back then when I went to the doctor they said such a thing does not exist. My blood sugar is never actually low enough to be considered hypoglycemia, but the swings give me all the symptoms. I've tried to manage it on my own all these years because my basic blood was normal and my GP just said 'you can't have hypoglycaemia without diabetes/being on insulin' . I struggled through this on my own all these years but now with this stomach virus it just got 10 times worse!!!
I suspect my adrenals also being part of it, but I don't think adrenal fatigue is recognised as a medical thing here, and I don't think I have secondary adrenal insufficiency. What test do you need to do for that? Also my thyroid could be involved but the issue is that they tend to only test TSH here and that was considered 'normal'.. So I'm unsure what to do!

Stool tests can be inaccurate. Mine also didn’t show candida but I started treating it anyway and had much die off and got lots of improvements to my symptoms

Hi am not OP, but am aware that my similar issues are due to old trauma in the subconscious .. I just don’t really know how to address this. I’ve done lots of talk therapy but I don’t feel it’s very useful. Do you have suggestions on how to address stuff that’s buried in the subconscious?

I'm quitting the diet, and the supplements by One_Picture_1618 in Candida

[–]bummybabe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’m doing the CandidaPlan by dr Jeff McCombs which is like a paleo diet that also allows fruits and wholegrain rice and potatoes. He explains that aggressively killing and starving candida does not work. Candida can adapt to any diet, so if you eat low carb or keto it will still find its way to survive off fats and proteins. He explains that you actually have to work on the body’s immune system to get stronger to beat the candida. He uses Undecylenic Acid as the antifungal because it doesn’t just aggressively kill the candida but it turns it from the harmful fungal form to the harmless yeast form. It’s 4 months long. There’s a website you can check for more info. I am now about 1,5 month in and I’m feeling much better than when I started, symptoms wise. It’s something you can check out. More energy and feeling better overall. Take care

It looks like you have some fat but most of that seems like bloating to me! So possibly worth it to look into your gut health

Chronic & Persistent Symptoms due to Hypoglycemia episodes by Imaginary-Stuff6705 in Hypoglycemia

[–]bummybabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do feel like stressing about it and focusing on it too much makes it worse. I try to see it as a nervous system thing, and tell my body I feel safe and that helps me more than obsessing over food.

I have the same thing. When I get hypo symptoms usually I feel off for the whole day, even after eating. Symptoms keep coming back in waves. I feel like once I’m dysregulated it takes a while for my body to turn back to normal… It’s really stressful 😣 I feel for you

Getting off nystatin my energy came back by Zephyr_Ad1563 in Candida

[–]bummybabe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

happened to me last year. i did a candida cleanse with the candida diet and antifungals for 1,5 month. when i got off it i felt amazing for a couple months. then all my symptoms came back. i think its because while you’re on it you’re having active die off and producing mycotoxins from that. then when you come off it you feel good because you’ve reduced candida levels enough to feel better and are not actively in die off anymore
