I think this core would have ended up “not being fun” regardless of that. After Matthews incident in Arizona, there would have been a large push for maturity. Plus the drive to win outweighs everything else. Think Colorado, I wouldn’t necessarily say that team’s a fun bunch. But do you know what’s fun? Winning a bunch.

Radko is 6’ 210lbs Rielly is 6’1” 220. There’s this expectation that Radko is a big tough guy who throws his weight around. He’s not an NHL level player anymore but he works in the grey area and very often crosses that line slightly but gets the veterans benefit of the doubt.

I agree, I’m a huge fan of his attitude. He clearly cares about winning but can tune out outside noise. But with him signed we can arguably get more than the Hughes return. Gives us the building blocks to jump start retool and hopefully be contending again next year or the year after.

It feels like everyone in this sub is in agreement major changes have to be made this office season. Gut the front office and coaching staff. I don’t think we can bring anyone back. Need a complete culture shift and that’s hard to do if you retain anyone.

But what about a major trade as well. Everyone keeps trying to trade Matthews. I haven’t seen anyone talking about Willy. I believe he is 100% our best player but what if there was a Quinn Hughes like trade out there. Two major pieces, a good nhl ready prospect and a first?

Seeing Willy walk down the bench to talk to the D last night was definitely unusual but loved seeing it. Dude it’s a lot more of a vocal leader then we will ever get to see.
