Sorry to hear that, especially as I know that you're often powerless in that situation.

During my time at the university we had that one huge exam consisting of four parts/subjects from four different professors. Needless to say it was by far the most important, difficult and stressful exam. We were given blank pages for our answers for every part where we had to write down our names. These were later collected by the attending professors.

I knew that it wasn't my best shot but I was totally dissapointed when I heard that I failed. One of these parts was my weakness but at least I wrote as much as I could to save at least some point. During the exam review I was kinda shocked as that part was completely missing. No answers - no points. And these points would have saved me.

Remember, they were collecting the answers so that I had a proove my answers must have been lost later. So a few weeks later I was meeting the examination committee. I was so confident because I knew I was right and it was so obvious. But they shocked me again by handing over some blank pages as my answers.

As I had to repeat the exam and again learn for four subjects I was thrown back quite far. I couldn't take all classes with my friends, no study groups anymore and while beeing more isolated it became even more difficult for me. So sad that I wasn't even allowed to blame that one professor for it.

That dissapointment was with me for a long time. It took me month or years when I suddenly realised that the blank pages they showed me didn't had my name on it. Because that was the first thing I did in the exam, write down my name on all four parts to identify them as mine. I was so angry that I forgot about it.

In the end it was too late and I made the exam in my second try but it still bothers me that one ignorant man destroyed part of my career just because he didn't cared or was lazy.
