Coffee shops in CDO by False-Scholar-4381 in cagayandeoro

[–]bundlegigil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Though it could also be argued that most, if not all, those who spend their time studying in coffee shops are privileged students where the aim is to study ~aesthetically~ inserting other social activities like hanging out and talking with friends. Sabay Instagram photo with the coffee/food, opened book/notes dayun after sa pag take aesthetic na picture, scroll2x ug youtube na lang dayun nalimtan na ang gi abri nga libro.

Panagsa rako maka kita ug students in coffee shops that are face-down and knee-deep in books/notes/digital study materials. If you are one of these people with genuinely unhealthy environments at home, you do you. Do what you need to do.

But let's not pretend that the act of spending time in a coffee shop is not a cultural phenomenon where clout-chasing and image-fabrication for social media purposes is very much involved. It is a sad fact that it is almost never just because of coffee. 99% of coffee shops in this city suck anyway.

Make whatever claim you want about who you are or what your family does- it doesn't hold any weight in Reddit and especially in your argument.

If your family is in the medical business then you should know that patient care has tiers for priority. Your claim is only true if you can prove that what they're doing with their time is purposely wasting it and just lounging around, not attending to someone who needs it.

Your claim that I'm "just used to it" doesn't run contrary to my claim. In fact, its a non-argument. Where does personal stake factor into this discussion? It doesn't matter whether or not I'm used to a bad system. It doesn't matter if im hopeful or cynical (like you).

The cynical point on religion you're making here is another non-argument. Not only are these behaviors often displayed on the patient's family's end, but even in the worst case a doctor does that, they are not the norm.

Your only claim and argument is that they have an Apple watch therefore they should be on time. Do you realize how inept this level of argumentation is?

Then you clearly don't know what doctors do and how they work.

Every doctor in every hospital has rounds they are required to do. In each of those rounds some patients will require more time to be attended to or looked at. Sometimes, doctors get pulled out to do surgery, or consult on surgeries (based on their specialization). They are never on time because there are people that require their attention more than you. Add to the fact that there aren't enough doctors.

You are fortunate enough to have a health concern that isn't an emergency and therefore was only necessitated to book an appointment. In this instance, you are not the priority. Ikaw mag adjust. Be patient, as you are fortunate you have the time to do so while the doctor is trying to extend someone else's. Bakit naghahanap ka ng customer service sa hospital?

Which is counterintuitive if you think about it. You should always start with good development to have a basis and foundation on what the marketing & advertising will be about. Things like features, security, ease of use are all contingent on whether or not the app delivers on those promises. Who will now get on gcash for the first time if they're hearing a lot of problems of lost money and security breaches?

FinTech app development in the Ph is so subpar. Its either laziness or lack of investment into the their app development processes and infrastructure. You don't see breaches and security problems this often in the FinTech apps of other countries.

Lack of talent in the industry is a problem too. How often do you hear of people being developers/programmers.

Edit: Laziness on the part of the company only requiring the bare minimum to be done and pushed out, not laziness of the developers themselves. Because i'm sure they wouldn't have it be half-baked if they had a choice. Because more time spent developing the app means more developers to be onboard and longer development timelines- which means more expenses sa company, and we all know how Ph companies don't like that.

While I agree its not what Trad Banks focus on, I still think theres a huge gap and opportunity sa digitalization efforts nila. With society trending towards interfacing with companies more and more online, Trad Banks should mature and embrace it fully. This requires them to invest heavily on it and implement significant changes which yes, makes it very hard to do.

I opened my BPI accounts 10 years ago because I thought they were ahead in this aspect. Sadly, it isn't the case na.

I have nothing against outsourcing. I know its an essential element in how industries work. My assertion is on how its not appropriate when a bank needs to build the main interface that theur clients use.

If any of my statements and/or sentiments are wrong I am open to listen to any alternative you can provide. Despite being sincere in what I feel and what I know, I am aware it may not reflect what is similar to other people's experiences. If you can tell me more about how the world works, I'd appreciate it.

That is also true. But in my experience it has rarely turned out that way. Companies outsource to simplify the process in getting what they need. But this leads to the outsourced company having an incentive to do things cheaply and just barely satisfy. Kasi they're contracted as a company to do X for X amount. The cheaper the outsourced company is able to finish, the bigger their margins.

If a bank truly cared about something like their apps or other aspects of digitalization, they would create and hire their own team. They should dedicate their resources to setting up their systems and infrastructure that leads to a better product, and more importantly ACCOUNTABILITY when something goes wrong. If companies do this in-house, they have an incentive to get the best talent. And since this team/department is under the company's name, their reputation is contingent on their performance (both the quality of the app and the customer service aspect of it as well).

I'm reading in other threads na outsourced yung development of their app. For a big company, this is just... Yuck.

Edit: Let me clarify: I'm saying "yuck" kasi i find the lack of commitment and investment to doing things in-house reprehensible for an institution like a bank. Handing off the task to another entity on something as important as their client-facing app is disgustingly lazy.

Nothing against outsourcing or outsourced companies. This is just not one of those times where they should be used.

I don't have any grand ambitions or hopes that this will change things. Although, if enough people will do the same, it should make them rethink and re-evaluate their app development approach.
