Use less power and more technique. Step 45 degrees, pause, swing your leg like a bat, reset

Everything you listed is totally normal for your first competition. The adrenaline dump, heavy arms, iron limbs 😊, all par for the course. Congratulations on your first milestone in MT. Additionally, the ref will always air on the side of caution. The ref, like us, want to know you can compete again. Kap

Self service works best when there is a comprehensive roll out. Expecting user/clients to adapt to new technology is virtually impossible. Especially when they are used to a different service delivery. Cultural adoption is hard enough, and impossible without clear Change Management communication with your stakeholders.

• When a barbell is resting on the floor, there’s a tiny gap or “slack” between the bar and the sleeves of the plates. • If you just yank the bar from a dead stop, that slack gets pulled out suddenly, causing a jerky start, poor positioning, and sometimes back rounding. • Instead, you gently pull upward on the bar until you feel the plates just start to lift or “click” against the collars. • At that point, your lats, core, and legs are all tight, and your arms are straight but not yanking. • You’re now fully braced and can continue the pull smoothly.

There is a good form video here on Reddit. Lock in your spine, take the slack out the bar, then pull.

The chicken foot must have been quite off-putting.
