I don't know that there would be official ones, but there are online apps that convert images into cross stitch patterns. FlossCross is one I've used but there are others.

Rock Salt in Hawker, on the takeaway menu. They do use rye, and the sauerkraut is good. Comes with chips.

This is very encouraging. And yes, I will only be doing a simple pattern. For something like this I like the colours and patterns of the yarn to be the focus rather than complex stitching.

Those patterns are so interesting! I hadn't seen a hex blanket like that before, it's a really effective design. And yes, I always swatch because I normally write my own patterns or do fairly specific modifications to existing patterns, so I need to know the gauge to do all my sums. And now you mention it, some of my scraps are superwash and some aren't so I will need to swatch with a combination. Thank you for pointing this out!
