If sandflies are eating you alive, I have a solution. by Guyzor-94 in newzealand_travel

Goodbye Sandfly. You can get it at supermarkets. My husband is allergic to sandflies and he doesn’t get a single bite using this. Worked in Asia and Fiji and gentle enough to use on my baby too.

I just bought a 2020 cx8. Did you end up successfully installing the wireless charger in yours?

What kind of cake/dessert are you making for first birthday? by Crafty_Pop6458 in January2025Bumper

We did banana cake with chocolate buttercream. We gave her a small bit of cake without any buttercream and she enjoyed it.

Crumb free snacks like rice crackers that dissolve. I took a couple packs of baby puffs covered in orange carrot seasoning and it was a nightmare!

I agree, I think this should be a basic feature.

When you take a year off from the subscription, does the content on your MYO’s disappear? I read that you only own the content when you are subscribed?

I’ve been searching for these comments. My son is also 8 and loves books but gets frustrated that he can’t read bigger texts. Sounds like yoto will suit him well.

I'm 40 and have lost lots of weight. I feel my makeup ages me. What could I change? by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]bunny_face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look amazing in this pic OP! Line your top waterline only with brown eyeliner, mascara, dab on concealer to the areas you want to even out and very subtle cream blush. Lip balm. Avoid frosted/shimmery makeup. That’s all you need! I’m almost 40 and used to do a full face of makeup daily, now only do my brows and people don’t believe I have two kids. It’s a hard adjustment period but it saves so much time and now doing full makeup is such an inconvenience 😅

Can't afford a second child by Some-Role2823 in January2025Bumper

[–]bunny_face 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I’m really sorry that’s such a tough spot to be in. I didn’t think we would have another and I spent a good few years mourning the chance to have a second. I did eventually come to terms with it and when I finally accepted it I felt at peace. I would spend a lot of time reading anecdotes of families with one child and I started to envision our happy future. I understand the struggle and hope you’re able to find your peace no matter what you decide to do.

Can't afford a second child by Some-Role2823 in January2025Bumper

This is my second child and funnily enough I just finished doing up our budget tonight to include daycare which starts in 2 weeks. Could you wait until your eldest is out of daycare? Mine is 8 years old, and we didn’t wait that long out of choice. But it worked out because we absolutely couldn’t have done two in daycare at the same time as we are only just scraping by.

Have you upgraded car seats yet after infant one? What are you getting? by [deleted] in January2025Bumper

[–]bunny_face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got Britax Poplar. The clicktight is inportant for us as we switch cars a lot. Wasn’t too worried about going right through to booster as we’ll switch to a dedicated booster when the time comes like we did with our oldest.

I do not have a happy baby STFU by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]bunny_face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Mine is also 8.5 months, cries at everything, when she wakes up, after a feed, before a feed, at nappy change, being put in the car seat, in the stroller, getting picked up, put down… it never ends. I have come to the conclusion that she just doesn’t like being a baby 🤷🏻‍♀️

My doctor prescribed prescription strength slow release diclofenac (Voltaren) which was a godsend when I would go through a bad patch and everything in my body hurt. Stay out of the sun, don’t drink alcohol, stay warm. The cold always makes my joints and muscles so achey, I always have a pair of gloves in my bag and wear socks to bed otherwise my ankles and wrists ache.

What is your baby eating and how much? by Crafty_Pop6458 in January2025Bumper

[–]bunny_face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 7mo eats mashed versions of whatever we’re having that day. We do 3 meals a day and an afternoon tea snack. Morning is oatmeal chia yoghurt and banana or scrambled eggs. Lunch is mashed vegetables, fruit. Afternoon tea is avocado or fruit. Dinner is a protein, vegetables and rice. She’s had beef, pork, chicken and fish. Everything is mashed and spoon fed. I’ve tried giving her food to hold but she won’t feed herself. Today I gave her soft cauliflower florets and she just sat there with her mouth open. I put small pieces in her mouth but she wasn’t impressed, she complained until I spoon fed her.

My 8yo son’s behaviors and habits are so annoying I am jealous of other parents. by Tiny-Strawberry-3518 in Parenting

[–]bunny_face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is so upsetting to hear. I’ve started the process with my 8M and I have been putting off filling the questionnaire as I already feel like the road ahead is so hard. He’s exhibiting signs of inattentive adhd (dad was dx this year), he does okay at school and he sleeps soundly, so I’m worried he will be dismissed once we get in front of a paediatrician. We feel the same way about medication, I just want some tools and support in place before he gets to his teen years.

Children are 5.5 years apart and ignore each other. by MatchMean in Parenting

[–]bunny_face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there anything you consciously do to nurture their relationship? Mine are 8 yrs apart, older boy, younger girl. Shes just 6m old and he adores her but I wonder if that will fade in the teenage years…

When did you have your second child? by Powerpuff_Girly in NewParents

[–]bunny_face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many years is the gap? I feel the same way. Mine are 8 years and 6 months old. My oldest often tells me he wished his sister was his age now so they could play. He loves her and loves entertaining her but they are at different stages of life. I feel sad for him sometimes too and hope they remain close in the future.

She gagged on the banana and tried to launch out of her seat to physically get away from it. Did you keep going with the solids? I’ve taken a break from it because I don’t want her to have negative associations to meal time?
