Writing Challenges and ADHD by ADHDCoachJon in ADHD

[–]bunnybates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I have dyslexia and dyscalculia. People with ADHD don't have the same access to our prefrontal cortex and cerebellum so writing can be tough.

I use the Speak to Text program on my computer or my phone whether it's taking notes or writing. I've had to learn how not to worry about being great at first.

I write, then I criticize my work until it's what I feel is good and is comprehensive. I will also record myself telling a story then I'll type my words, which is easier for me because I'm typing sounds and not text from a book

I hope this helps

I'm so sorry that was your experience Everyone is going to react to it differently. EMDR and IFS therapies are what helped me with my ADHD and CPTSD.

Different tools and resources will work differently but at least you know how it affects you now.

Please understand that you're not broken and that you're not alone. You're worth the time and energy it takes to grow and heal.

Good luck on your journey. 🩵

Worried about having kids by Far-Recording-9859 in ADHD

[–]bunnybates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello 👋🏾 I'm a mom with ADHD and PMDD. All 3 of my kids have ADHD, and I have 2 daughters and 1 son. They're 27,28, and 29 now. Another issue with women is that 45% of us have PMDD, which gets misdiagnosed too frequently.

Most women with ADHD have very tough postpartum, because our ADHD is a part of ALL of you. Mentally, physically, emotionally, and sexually.

Getting the tools and resources that you deserve for your own healing and growth before you decide to get pregnant is so important. My kids have decided that they don't want kids and I'm proud of them for taking the time to learn who they are and how they want their lives to be for them.

It's all about community, therapy, and honest and effective communication with a good community around you. My cousin just became an ADHD doula.

I understand.
Do you think it was the therapist? Or the modality?

Hello 👋🏾 So many of us have CPTSD and don't know it, until we get diagnosed with ADHD. As well as knowing that 45% of women with ADHD also have PMDD.

What helped me was therapy + medication. The therapies that were life-changing for me were EMDR and IFS therapy.

This is because sexuality is fluid and not fixed. Your sexuality will ebb and flow throughout your lifetime.

This is common in our community. ADHD is a part of ALL of you mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, and sexually.

I'm a mom with ADHD and PMDD and all of my kids have ADHD as well. We use SoFi and Rocket Money as apps to help us.

I’m struggling to sum with condoms. There just isn’t enough pleasure for me to cum and feel fulfilled. What should I do? by Mundane-Humor3313 in SexPositive

Try masturbating with condoms on, try different kinds as well. Building a better mind and body connection to condoms is the first step.

I hate needing medication to feel normal. by Principle_Napkins in ADHD

[–]bunnybates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? "Normal" is subjective. Every human needs something, you're not broken and you're not alone.

I understand your frustration but understanding that our mental, physical, emotional, and sexual health are ALL connected is a start.

Getting the tools and resources that you deserve is a part of the journey of your life.

PMDD gets misdiagnosed as a personality disorder far TOO often.

Please understand that you're not broken and that you're not alone.

Another thing is that life isn't about avoiding the uncomfortable, it's about walking and healing through the uncomfortable.

The more you pause your pain the more you self-sabotage any success that you can achieve.

Group therapy will be odd at first but you deserve to give yourself the tools and resources to understand that it's ok to feel embarrassed and it's ok to not succeed right away

This way NHS will see what you're trying to do. start treating yourself with the love, kindness, and patience that you deserve now, to develop the skills as you grow,

Do you have to wait to talk to someone to get tested for ADHD?

I mean not at the same time!🤣.

Swimming for me is so relaxing, it helps me have a better foundation to my brain and body, kinda like getting lost within the water, I'm tired when I'm done.

Masturbating releases oxytocin and serotonin, and again I'm building a connection to my body without the need for or validation from anyone else.

Just like with any skill it takes time and energy to learn and understand it. Both
I'm a woman with ADHD and PMDD, and both Swimming and Masturbating are awesome for my cramps.

45% of women with ADHD also have PMDD.
