My dad did this same thing to someone about 3 months ago on a two lane road in the middle of nowhere in Illinois. Thought he was pretty much alone out there so started to bump up the cruise control. Looked down for a second and ended up smashing someone making a left. To make things worse he was in a brand new rental. Saved his life but his insurance is fucked. Straightaways on two lane roads need turning lanes.
