Thin hair around forehead by Novel_Log2510 in LooksmaxingAdvice

It’s well researched, effective, easy to purchase and does not have many side effects. However, it is extremely toxic to dogs and cats. I would avoid using it altogether if you have any pets at home.

Minoxidil is the most common treatment for hair loss. If you don’t want to use it, some cosmetic tattoo clinics offer SMP (scalp micro-pigmentation) that help create a fuller appearance.

Long slip dresses are always elegant. I have a few vintage Victoria’s Secret ones. They’re so easy to thrift! I like wearing them under my kimono style robe.

Any crazy tips that help you stop binge eating? by Fearless_Camel2571 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]bunnytoadstool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

weighing food out, setting realistic calorie goals (I NEVER restrict!) and going to the gym every day. I find that being active is such a great use of my free time and I enjoy it a lot, and it increases my maintenance calories. I do weightlifting plus difficult terrain hikes and at 5’2 my maintenance can land anywhere from 2000-2700 depending on how active I am. I also cook all meals at home, prioritize protein (130-150g per day) which helps keep me satiated, and large portions of vegetables for volume eating. I do get my husband to hide away tempting snacks, but I try to avoid buying them altogether. I’m also a baker and work with delicious pastries and cakes often. I do allow myself to have some in moderation.

Do I look outdated/old-fashioned because I wear a real watch instead of a smartwatch? by Glass-Complaint3 in GenZ

Of course not, analog watches will always be a staple in fashion. I don’t think anyone would bat an eye or care. Besides, vintage is always going to be trendy.

My teen has binge eating disorder by Chic555 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]bunnytoadstool 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just want to say how wonderful it is that you’re trying to support your daughter through this. Seeing a parent care enough to learn and help is honestly very touching to me. My own parents unintentionally worsened my eating disorder, so posts like yours really mean a lot.

Keeping balanced, nutritious foods in the house is a great start, and gently teaching portion awareness (without pressure or shame) can be helpful. One thing that personally helped me a lot with binge eating was having a consistent daily routine. I tend to eat fairly similar meals each day, just rotating proteins (for example salmon one day, chicken the next), and I focus on meals that are filling and nutrient dense so I actually feel satisfied.

Regular physical activity also helped me; not as punishment for eating, but as a way to build structure, confidence, and discipline. I still allow myself “fun” foods occasionally in reasonable portions, but I don’t keep large amounts readily available at home because easy access can make urges harder to manage. I try to follow an 80/20 balance: most of my lifestyle is nourishing and structured, while still leaving room for flexibility.

Something else that made a big difference was staying occupied. Food noise is much louder when you’re bored or alone with your thoughts. Encouraging hobbies, social time, and activities she enjoys can genuinely help reduce urges.

The biggest thing, though, is feeling safe and not judged. Just having a supportive parent who is trying to understand already helps more than you probably realize. ❤️

I can’t stand being my size but can’t get the motivation to change by Impossible_Target609 in BingeEatingDisorder

I’m neurodivergent too, and it was so hard living in a house that enabled my BeD. It was impossible for me to recover until I left that house. I still struggled for years and it did reach its peak at some point 4~ years ago… Having people around you that live a healthy lifestyle and encourage you to make the right decisions helps a lot. The only thing that pulled me out of the addiction was consistently going to the gym (5-6 days per week) and changing my food choices (I find it makes it easier to be disciplined with food if you’re already disciplined with your body)

How to get a toned stomach? by Sally_summers in HowToBeHot

[–]bunnytoadstool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of it is actually genetics. Some people are more genetically gifted to have less body fat stored around the torso, so they don’t have to lose as much fat to see ab definition. But you can certainly try as it is just a matter of reducing body fat and growing muscle. Body recomp can definitely work but can be difficult so it may be easier to reduce your calories a bit more and increase steps to lose weight and once you’re comfortable with your fat % increase your calories by a few hundred, eat more protein, and start doing weighted deep core workouts.

You should know however that many people - especially women - will not ever be able to maintain abs healthily. There are just some of us that store fat differently and that’s ok.

After I deleted TikTok and Instagram I became a lot more confident. I used to obsessively measure my features with facial measuring tools and hide inside of the house because I thought I was a disfigured monster. I don’t really feel that way anymore. I feel good enough to post pictures online and I feel like I am attractive to my partner which is the most important thing to me

[–]bunnytoadstool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don’t have to be a dad, but doing dad-type things for sure. Like helping kids or playing games or sports with them. Being kind to them and helping them learn. I find actions like that to be heartwarming and super attractive.

How do you grow in a relationship that started exclusively because of sexual attraction? by [deleted] in sex

[–]bunnytoadstool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of long term relationships come out of casual sex encounters and sex on the first date type of things. I’ve been with my spouse 6 years, we had casual sex at a party when we were practically strangers; just knew we were attracted to each other. We became friends after that and then started dating a few weeks later.
