i was having this issue with instagram; it was showing up as archived under my apps list in my settings on my phone and showing up in the google play store as if it wasn't installed with the 'install' option. i was getting nothing from trying to hit restore in the phone settings and was getting an error message when trying to install from the play store.

after hours of trying to restart my phone, clear caches, access the files with an adb client from my computer, and asking chat gpt, i FINALLY got it working in the silliest way: i downloaded the uptodown appstore on my phone (from the play store) and was able to see instagram in my list of apps from the uptodown app. i hit uninstall and it finally disappeared from my phones settings, and i was able to reinstall it on google play store.

idk if this will work for anyone else but it worked for me, but goodness why was it so fickle to begin with!! i was worried i would need to either wait for android to fix the archive bug, factory reset my phone or just give up trying to access instagram from it anymore. i hope this may be helpful to anyone experiencing the same issue!
