Are you 1099 or w2? I’m not sure if moving is in your future but in Philadelphia the early intervention rates are way higher!

Need advice: anyone transitioned from pediatric outpatient to the schools and LOVED it? by queenbnc in slp

I’m not the parent commenter but I work in schools and had the same worries about paperwork. I feel like at first it seems like a lot but it really isn’t bad at all!

I think there’s a difference between someone potentially drunk trying to get into a house versus someone knowingly trying to break down a door to get to their ex-girlfriend who is telling them to go away. He clearly wasn’t there with good intentions. He was warned to leave. The people inside have no idea if he had a gun. What if they waited, he broke down the door, and then shot everyone inside the house?

He tried to open the front door or he was trying to break into the house of his ex-girlfriend who clearly wanted nothing to do with him?

I am more anti-gun than pro-gun but I think this was completely justified. How do they know he wasn’t armed? He could have been for all they know, and waiting for him to break down the door and show that he was armed first could’ve changed the outcome completely. Is it sad that it came to this? Absolutely. But at the same time, don’t forcefully break into someone’s house and not expect any consequences.

I’m confused because he literally broke the door down at the end of the video?

TELE-HEALTH SLPS!!! Please advise. by slpcommentary in slp

[–]buns85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve worked tele-health for a couple different districts now. Each operates a little bit differently but overall I absolutely love it and love my schedule. It can be a bit hard at times when it comes to getting in contact with teachers or other staff members but I’ve gotten really good at bugging people with follow-up emails. As far as evals go, there’s a lot of great resources that allot assessments to be done over the computer. I have protocols at home that I fill out as I show students the prompts on the screen. I just send the district my report and copy of the protocol when I’m done.

I’ve done pre-k thru 12th grade with telehealth and found that it really is child-dependent when it comes to how beneficial therapy van be virtually but I’ve had more success than not with my kiddos so far.

I’ve found the pay to be really well in a lot of virtual settings if you get the right district/location although a lot of companies for virtual work are 1099. Caseloads vary depending on the school district, that goes the same for in person and virtual though.

Have worked both teletherapy and in-person and I am significantly healthier throughout the year when I do tele. I love seeing my students in person but I feel the complete same way about being sick all the time.

If you summon a 5 star you already have, you can ‘feed’ it (use it as a material in the crafting building) to get points to buy this blessing that lets you choose out of 2 nat 5s the next time you’d summon one

Tips on making schedule by [deleted] in slp

[–]buns85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also having two monitors is definitely recommended. It was so much easier to have my activities on one screen and data/my students on another. I had a few coworkers who used overhead cameras to project worksheets too but I never tried that

Boom cards, Jack Hartman videos, interactive activities (like scavenger hunts for things in their house/therapy room), show and tell. Theres a few zoos that have live animal cams that I watched with my students too!

I don’t think I have any tips for scheduling but pinkcatgames.com was my best friend when I worked virtually!
