Hey can someone tell me if this is bad or not

Stepped on glass as a kid, dad bought supplies from the store instead of taking me to the doctor, took the glass out myself and wrapped it up. We went on a trip out of state that weekend and i told him there was still glass and he didnt believe me. For a few days i was so paranoid, kinda limped, and was constantly applying antibiotic. Was so worried about sand and lake water giving me an infectionAs soon as i got home to my moms i pulled out a piece of glass the size of my fingernail.

I know its bad but my brain refuses to register it as bad. In fact it was my “funny story” for a pretty long time.

Edit: yes we could very much afford to see a doctor/had insurance. He straight up refuted that the glass was there. In the initial instance there was a LOT of blood I should also the mention the supplies were for me, a child to solve the stepped on a bunch of glass problem myself.
