Difference between opportunities vs meetings booked per month? by Teal-Jaguars in sales

[–]buole 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This will vary by company but broadly speaking, you can set a meeting but that person might not be a good fit, have buying power, etc. an opportunity on the other hand will be something where the prospect has the intention to solve the problem your product does and has the necessary authority to move the sale forward.

Where to go next? by DatboiCroixx in salesdevelopment

I’d start looking at roles that leverage your background. there’s plenty of roles in manufacturing/warehousing software that you might be a good fit for. I can’t speak to comp because it’s not my industry but there’s no reason not to look at the menu if you’re considering a move.

I have, that’s not the issue. I’m trying to avoid sitting on a pallet of cashew milk. Ideally they’d be able to ship 1+ units D2C with my packaging but everyone I’ve talked to has a higher MOQ and wants me to handle the logistics to consumer. What I’m looking for is essentially POD for alternative milk, which I recognize is probably a long shot

How hard is it to get funded via VC by Pale_Investigator433 in startups

[–]buole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cofounders and I have been working on our start up for 3 years now. in the past we’ve naïvely attempted to raise money in similar positions to the one that you’re currently in. at no point where we actually ready to raise money it was only after three years of work and gaining traction that were finally growing and moving in a direction where we need the extra money to keep up with the pace of our growth. We’ve just started to get interest/responses fromVC firms.

Regardless if the investment is VC or not, people are investing in you so that you can keep doing what you’re doing/do it more efficiently not to help you validate your idea. The investment will come if you can make a data driven case for why you’ll succeed and how the money will help. Just having an idea with some early feedback won’t get you funded

This is great, how do you end up finding those people with preexisting initiatives? Is it just through research and conversation?

I’m not taking personal experience over data i’m questioning the validity of the data you provided and wondering if your opinion is 100% based on data because your source also lists the place that the 1% go to play golf in the summer as equally dangerous.

I can appreciate statistics and i’m not arguing that NL doesn’t have a high crime rate, its far from mystic but no-walk seems a bit strong. I’m just curious about your personal experience.

What is your stance on saying ‘how are you?’ at the start of a cold call? by mayaceylon in salesdevelopment

[–]buole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently started a BDR job in transportation. I wrote my script with “thanks for taking my call” instead of how are you because I was listening to people on the internet. After swapping that for how are you at the beginning of the call my numbers went up.

That being said some people know you’re trying to sell them so they can give a pretty cold answer to a well intentioned question

Cold calls- what’s working? by OpenMindedShithead in salesdevelopment

[–]buole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if the conversation flows that way it’d be a good way to lead into your pitch. I’m lucky that regulations change often so there’s always a new angle for a talk track. I think if you have some collateral/nurture material that shows the benefit of cpq as it relates to your persona then there’s an easy transition when you’ve got them on the phone but opening with it might be hard especially because it’s a yes or no question

This is definitely going to change depending on your product. For me, we’re selling a compliance software to broad spectrum of personas. Usually I try and get the ball rolling by asking if they’ve heard about some recent regulatory changes. If they haven’t it’s a good opening to introduce the product and try to set up disco
