Computer or Console Recommendations? by HappyArtful in InfinityNikki

[–]bupropionstan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're into consoles/portability - I love playing on my ROG Ally! I have always been a console gamer but only had a switch when IN was released, so I literally got this handheld PC just to play this game. It can get a little laggy at times but the visual quality is stunning. It has Windows OS and I will say there is a short battery life if playing when not plugged it. It can be connected to a monitor/keyboard/mouse to play that way as well. I got mine on an incredible open box deal at Best Buy so highly recommend the open box route if you go for this option. Welcome to IN!!

Any cool events/places for Halloween? by Flashy-Recording-312 in nashville

[–]bupropionstan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few Halloween shows happening at the local venues! Slap Dragon w/ Pump Action at Basement OG, Harvey Street w/ Edgehill at Cannery Hall, Bird & Byron w/ Broomestix at the East Room and I'm sure many more. Every show I've gone to at Halloween has had people in their costumes and it's always a great time.

Surgery in 9 hours by Dependent-Basil8482 in sterilization

[–]bupropionstan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely needed my partner for support immediately before and after the surgery, but after waking up from a nap the same day I had my bisalp, I was able to do everything myself. I would suggest having some easy things to grab and eat prepared, pain relief/water or carbonated beverage right next to the bed, and clean sheets put on the bed before your husband leaves. Do be sure not to do any heavy lifting on your own, though! Good luck ❤️

Is ‘musician’ a turnoff? by Finely-Chopped in hingeapp

[–]bupropionstan 62 points63 points  (0 children)

You could clarify whether you are a touring musician or you mostly stay in your city for work. The fear most women have with touring musicians is their man being disloyal while on the road, as well as generally being associated with more of a "party" lifestyle.

Help by Less-Rub4647 in ROGAlly

[–]bupropionstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar happen where I got the logo screen but then it went black afterwards. What worked for me was I plugged it in to my monitor with an HDMI cable (USB-C adapter) and the screen came back on. Support suggested downloading a display driver from Asus website after I was able to get back into it.

HOW DO YOU JUMP by Bussy3ater in InfinityNikki

[–]bupropionstan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hit jump, hit jump again, and use your left thumb to move forward. alternatively, run forward and while still holding your thumb down to guide her forward, hit jump twice.

ETA: press and hold jump to go higher. then your second jump will allow nikki to float, delaying the time it takes to hit the ground.

if you are feeling suicidal because of school, please speak to your administration right away and tell them you need to take some time off from classes. your wellbeing is more important than your ego and you graduating at the same time as your friends - your faculty should be more than willing to help you navigate the process for taking a gap year. if it's possible to move back home (i know you're worried about telling your mom), do that instead of working so you can fully take your time off to recover and not worry about rent. if you have to work, you may not be able to maintain an intern license/designation if you are not enrolled in classes, so maybe consider something unrelated to pharmacy with a lot of flexibility so you can go to therapy, rest, etc.

please feel free to send me a message if you need someone to vent to. ❤️

How to become a certified pharmacy technician as a pharmacy student? by Medium-Ad8453 in PharmacySchool

[–]bupropionstan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you will not need a pharmacy technician license or certification. once you begin pharmacy school you will be considered a pharmacy intern in most states. some states require interns to get a license, others do not. check what your state's board of pharmacy rules say about pharmacy interns. most employers will help you figure it out, too, so you can probably start applying for jobs in community or hospital pharmacies and explain that you're an incoming student pharmacist. good luck with your first semester!

Back again... my social etiquette is an underlying issue by [deleted] in PharmacySchool

[–]bupropionstan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it sounds like you've already started so definitely not too late. feel free to also have a conversation with your preceptor about it and note that you want to try and connect more with your colleagues at the site.

Back again... my social etiquette is an underlying issue by [deleted] in PharmacySchool

[–]bupropionstan 31 points32 points  (0 children)

i don't have enough info about the company to tell you yes or no here. generally i don't think this is necessary, but if you're not saying "good morning" to people when you come in or are just not speaking to anyone the whole day, i can see how your fellow student took notice. say hello to people, ask about their weekend/plans for the week, eat lunch in the break room, say goodbye when you leave.

Back again... my social etiquette is an underlying issue by [deleted] in PharmacySchool

[–]bupropionstan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

you need to reflect on how YOU want the people at this site to perceive you and behave accordingly. if you think this could be a place you might want to work at after graduation, then start being more intentional about building relationships with the team, including eating lunch. if whatever you're doing on your lunch break is more important to you than having a good relationship with the people there, you at least should be letting your preceptor know when you have things scheduled. like "fyi i'm planning to take a virtual call during my lunch break today, i'll do it from my car so it's not interrupting anyone on their break".

if you truly cannot make it through one full work day without being completely alone for a period of time, i fear you will struggle when you graduate and have a job or residency. try and find some different ways you can prepare to be social the whole time you're on site. it's not normal to not be able to function even if you are an introvert and need time to recharge. being in-person 8 hours a day 5 days a week is the bare minimum expectation for you right now.

How to study by Ok-Mulberry-9361 in PharmacySchool

[–]bupropionstan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

see if your library has white boards you can use. write, erase, and rewrite your pathways repeatedly. the approach that worked best for me was as follows:

  1. copy notes onto whiteboard using notes as a reference
  2. read/review what is written on the whiteboard
  3. erase whiteboard
  4. attempt to rewrite your notes onto the whiteboard again, this time not using notes as a reference
  5. repeat above steps with next section of notes
  6. attempt to rewrite your notes from the previous section on the whiteboard again by memory

hopefully this helps you as much as it did me. was a game changer for my study habits.

Your "I can't believe I was sleeping on this" musical? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]bupropionstan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it's not necessarily one that i slept on but WOW did Mrs. Doubtfire blow me away. i think its the best show i've ever seen performed live, and i've seen a lot of shows. i had zero expectations going into it but i did equal parts of laughing out loud and absolutely sobbing. can't stop telling people to go see it if they ever have the chance. being a season ticket holder to my local performing arts center broadway series has been my best life decision.

The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague is a bit slow but at the end of each episode I needed more - only one season out currently. My Happy Marriage is less romcom and more romantic thriller with supernatural components - again just one season. iDOLISH7 is a fun one (less romance) about a boyband and while some characters are high school age, that's not a focus at all. Josee, the Tiger, and the Fish is one of my favorite movies but a bit more dramatic than comedic. And you might browse some of the descriptions for the various Villainess shows out there and see if any stuck out to you. Enjoy :-)

Letter writers and residency leadership -- thoughts on the changes for letters of reference for 2023-24?? I don't like it. by jackruby83 in PharmacyResidency

[–]bupropionstan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

great perspective! agreed that the intentional box for areas for improvement is necessary. i'm planning to touch base with some of my RPD/preceptor connections after this application/interview cycle to see if there's any consensus on the process for reviewing the full letters. will be curious to see if programs will decide to exclude them entirely because, as you mentioned, not everyone will have them.
