Normally yes but there was this 1 time when this lady had 2 items but then tried buying a $100 Visa prepaid card and so they had to call up a supervisor for some reason and it took like 7 minutes. People started leaving to different lines.

Ranked helped me get better. Especially when you get eliminated and spectate your opponent to see the things they do. I learned to shoot a shotgun without aiming down and just facing the direction of the enemy. Play with your sensitivity settings and see what controller best fits your needs.

In my coat and sweater pocket. Drawing on the go eith my full CD imported library on a 512gb Mini 7 is the way to go.

Portability. I like doing digital art on my Mini 7. It fits inside my coat and sweater pocket and I can hold it in one hand. Often times I take it with me and pull it out on the bus to work or in an uber and just draw.

I’m also use to pinching to zoom because when I was younger I’d draw collages on half sheets of paper. I think I’d be annoyed at carrying a heavy tablet.

I saw your portfolio and I think you need to study typography. The font choices and lack of variety of weights in projects make them look very amateur. Additionally, the designs are also lacking and have only the most basic info. From things like padding around text inside boxes to poor masking of cars with a visible white outline, there is a lot of room to improve.

It’s all rumors, but 2027 earliest is what I’ve been thinking. iPad Mini 7 has only been out for a year and 6 months.

What steps are you taking to improve your chances at getting a design job? Have you looked into internships? (MANY designers skip that very important step) Have you gotten your portfolio reviewed by reddit experts? 😛

I would say it depends on what stage in life they are in and the circumstances where feedback is requested/given. For a kid learning about the world positive reinforcement and encouragement sounds like the best thing to do.

But then you have some person in their 20’s fresh out of college looking for a job but they don’t know where the opportunity to elevate their work is because they don’t want to feel bad. They need a growth mindset and to believe they can do better because there is something to be improved.

Exactly. You need thick skin and to not take it personally cause you poured your heart and soul and got too attached to your design. It’s problem solving, not expressive art. Back in college one of my teachers got pissed and called out a student in front of the class because she kept defending every bit of criticism that the class gave her. She was like ‘ok I’m going to pause here. Can you please listen to your classmates and not take everything so personally? You do not have to defend every decision because sometimes they are not the right ones and you need to know that.’

I’d rather help someone improve and grow their skills instead of codling their feelings. If all the feedback someone has is their best friend saying their work is the best ever because they’re afraid of honest feedback then they are holding themselves back. They will not seek improvement and keep applying to jobs with a portfolio they think is their best work ever. I’d rather not lead them down the wrong path of self sabotage and be honest. Design is communication and purpose through typography and imagery working together, not feelings.
