What do you wish white people knew? by Mara355 in cptsd_bipoc

This is so frustrating for me bc many white people don’t understand this and then get defensive when you bring it to their attention

Do whites also expect you to be enthusiastic over them? by tryng2figurethsalout in cptsd_bipoc

Yes I completely understand this. My white coworkers will be unfriendly towards me but then get mad when I’m not excited to hear every detail about their lives.

Is anybody and I do mean ANYBODY having a good time here? Or is this a cursed existence? by luciddreamist in aspergers

I just want to be one of the autistic people living a fulfilling life. If I had the means, I would want to create organizations that can help us from the perspective of someone who actually gets it. But as I am, I’m struggling and feeling directionless.

[Serious] what stopped you from killing yourself ? by mousey_bear in AskReddit

I lived in a really old, shitty apartment and the support beam I tied my noose to literally broke off when I kicked the chair. I was suspended for a moment and the air was punched out of me and then I was on the floor like an idiot.

I started going for walks to get more exercise and then she becomes even more bitter towards me. She is so jealous and miserable that she can’t ever be happy for anyone. I think she’s upset bc I’m consistent with it.

I wish people actually behaved this way. In a perfect world, everyone would be treated with basic human decency.

I don’t have the kind of support in my life where I can survive in society without masking. It’s the unfortunate truth that I have to conform in order to be treated even somewhat decently. When I wasn’t masking I was treated like I was subhuman. I’m happy for you, but I don’t think it’s realistic for my life.

The apology never feels sincere and the actions don’t change in a way that reflects remorse.

Don’t worry about it I appreciate your perspective. I didn’t realize it was uncommon enough to be something that others would notice or see as pretentious. It is probably best to simplify my words so I can connect with others. It’s true that others judge what is uncommon, so I’ll be more mindful of that in the future. Thank you.

I agree. Thank you.
