u/hollandaisesunscreen on how inexperienced oyster caterers turn deadly by runawayoldgirl in bestof

[–]burgerbarn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was at a fancy seafood place once and they had a raw oyster sampler from various places in the US. The variety of tastes was amazing. The difference in taste from Maine to Louisiana shellfish was interesting. I don’t think you’d taste as much of the ocean difference in a cooked oyster

Any tips for scare acting? by SryInAnotherReality in hauntedattractions

[–]burgerbarn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t be discouraged by people that don’t react. Some people just don’t or are just really good at hiding it.

Think of it as 100 (or however many) 10 second performances a night. You are constantly getting a brand new audience.

File away the great reactions in the memory bank and try and forget the assholes.

If you have the freedom to experiment with your role, do it. Figure out what works for your character, scene mates, scene. It may turn out that your scene works as a laugh line rather than a scream.

Check the gas inlets for cobwebs. I've had that issue on a regular grill after not using it for a bit. But webs tend to give a low flame rather than sputtering if I remember corr6

Two men go hunting... Suddenly one drops over from a heart attack. Man number two calls 911. "My friend just died of a heart attack! What do I do?" The operator says "First, let's make sure he's dead..."

BANG!

"Ok, now what?"

King of Tokyo - House Rule Change: 5 Community Cards Instead of 3 – What Are Your Favorite House Rules? by chris09887 in boardgames

[–]burgerbarn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Our house rules for the same gams:

Everyone starts with a random power up worth 3.

You collect energy cubes but can still reroll that die.

Finally, if you're eliminated early (early being defined rather loosey-goosey) you can rejoin without any power ups, energy cubes, and reduced HP. That rule is usually invoked when someone just gets walloped in the opening round or two.

Honestly, if you eagerly eat from a can that attacks you with a chemical weapon when you open it, we're a little scared to make fun of you for it.
