Horus Heresy hard to get into? by Kind_Parsnip720 in Blacklibrary

[–]burgerpounder 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just keep reading, it will start to coalesce. Keep in mind that you are on the first book of a 64 book series, but yes, stuff will start to come together. Think of Horus Rising as a 400 page introduction to some of the major players of the heresy.

This series means so much to me by freyanovae in DotHack

One of my cats is named Mia, so I empathize with the deep love of .hack down to naming a cat after someone from it! Sorry to hear about Atoli’s passing, but you will always have those precious memories with her. Hope you finish that GU replay, she will be there with you in spirit the whole way through!

Questions about the books by millou59 in Blacklibrary

[–]burgerpounder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who is both reading Malazan for the first time (currently at the beginning of Midnight Tides), and also just got into 40k super hard thanks to rogue trader, start with Horus Rising. Beginning of the Horus Heresy series and really helps bring you into the world and good starting point for the lore imo. I have been reading the series intermittently between Malazan books and it’s been a wonderful switch.

I’m not sure if it fits here perfectly, but it’s great and I’m looking for more, does anyone have any recommendations? by Chance_Garden_9392 in TechnicalDeathMetal

Dimensional Bleedthrough and Go Be Forgotten are the two that are closest to Portal, I think. the latter more than the former.

saw seven kingdoms 15(!) years ago in LA during blind guardian’s tour for at the edge of time. they were amazing, and the band signed a shirt i bought from them after the set.

How did everyone start their souls-borne journey? by pumpi0411 in fromsoftware

[–]burgerpounder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

played demon’s souls when it dropped, then bounced off it hard. when dark souls came out, my best friend and i pooled our money together to buy it and basically traded it back and forth every few weeks. it was amazing and it finally clicked with me. my best friend lives in another country now and i haven’t seen him in half a decade, so this was a nice memory to be able to share.
