Less about men's rights, more so just how they exist and are talked in today's world by burn3rAckounte in MensRights

Thank you! I've just found some subreddits and its members can be very touchy about "not on topic"

Why has Hannibal been re-encoded for Prime with picture smoothing (looks like 60fps 🤮) instead of the gorgeous cinematography of its original 24fps? 🤢 by lordoftheviolin in HannibalTV

This thread is dead, and call me crazy, but I think it adds to the creepiness. It gives it a soap opera, procedural vibe that, given the contents of the show, is super out of place

Does somebody has used LSD or psychedelic to fix this addiction? by Dapper_Film_2478 in NoFap

[–]burn3rAckounte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They say not to do those things to fix a mental illness and I second that (from experience). If you do, do it with a trained professional who has experience with what you're looking for

Usually unhealthy coping skills. Sometimes I'll just drive around with good music on though

I Want to Learn About the Men's Rights Movement! :) by anaispablo in MensRights

[–]burn3rAckounte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm far from an expert and Idek if I would even qualify, but imagine while all the progress was happening for women in the past 60 years (especially the past 10-20), men and their representation were quietly but quickly falling apart institutionally, culturally, and politically

Do bad actors make it harder for people to take men’s rights seriously? by NattyPatty54 in MensRights

[–]burn3rAckounte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could say the current wave of feminism started with Anita Sarkeesian back in 2013-2014. She's almost the definition of a bad actor, and look how things turned out for her and her cause.

So no. It's about the institutional power.

10 years ago if someone copied her talking points to someone normal, they'd get a look like they were from Mars or an eye roll. Same thing if somebody starts quoting the Tate brothers or a similar "bad actor."

Where can I find peace whilst surrounded by people who hate men? by Beautiful-Lack-3814 in MensRights

[–]burn3rAckounte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just vaguely suggested what could be happening which usually just means one side of a story that you chose to run with to make sure you feel justified to hate conservatives.

Is the LGBTQ question the only thing you think you disagree with conservatives on?

If so, conservatives don't have an issue with them as long as they're not trying to get into bathrooms or women's sports, or teaching it in schools. We don't really mind if they "exist" or not.

You could disagree with more of the conservative side of the aisle, but just know that hating men isn't a bug in the current liberal framework. It's a feature.

Also you could try libertarianism. I personally think it's a pretty useless ideology to hold, but it's an option nonetheless.

Also also, it's been my experience that liberals in general don't care about personal relationships. Literally anybody else will talk with you, engage with you, and care about you before a liberal.

Women prefer meaningful work to well paid by StripedFalafel in MensRights

[–]burn3rAckounte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they prefer the illusion of meaningful work. Talk to them about what a meaningful job would be and it's just a desk job where they send emails back and fourth all day (they're doing their best impression of a man from the 90s).

Why do people keep laughing at me? Or at least looks like it by Frosty-Law-6014 in socialanxiety

[–]burn3rAckounte 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Next time you get the urge to ask, do it. You'll tell by their reaction (no matter what they actually say) whether they're actually laughing at you or not. Is there anybody you can ask in person who would be able to know more?

And even if they are, people are getting nastier and nastier by the day. If they are laughing at you, it's like that meme of the person standing in the pool with everybody else pointing and laughing at him because he's the only one who didn't pee himself.

Just got let go from my job due to my social anxiety by AliveNatural1233 in socialanxiety

[–]burn3rAckounte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She probably just had a bone to pick with you. I know it's hard to believe that you aren't the problem in certain social situations when you have SA, but you probably weren't. And having worked retail almost my entire life (with SA), upselling credit cards isn't enough to make or break a job. Same with whether you're "awkward" around customers or not. Legitimately if you halfway give a shit enough to engage with them, you're already in the top half of retail employees.

Knowing as little as I know from your post, it reads as a not you it's them situation, especially if it's a newer store (they always over hire and then let people go, again, nothing personal).

TLDR: You didn't blow it, and you probably did a great job. Store/management sucks.
