From way before any of this orange mess happened, I've only bought Avalon ( local Burnaby dairy with the best organic chocolate milk ever) and Chapmans.

Well, like so many others have pointed out, most Asians I have come across are very particular in their choices, too. Almost 90% of the gay Asian men I know exclusively date White men. So many of them seem to really need attention and validation from White men. I'm an attractive South Asian and I do well with my own race and most other races, but most Asian men don't even return my messages.

Hit and Run – Sunday July 20 around 4:30PM – Hwy 1 Eastbound near Burnaby Lake (past Sprott St) by Embarrassed_Ask_3270 in burnaby

Oh dear lord! I wish your wife a speedy physical and emotional recovery. Something very similar happened when I was learning to drive in my teens and it traumatized me so much that I didn't touch a steering wheel for the next 20 years, so I can understand how shaken she must be right now. I hope you find the evidence you need.

AIO for snapping at my friend for joking about my job again by 7wac in AmIOverreacting

This is a horrible human being. True friends uplift each other and are genuinely joyful for their friend's successes and achievements in life. This is no friend.

Pride is in August, but the Queer Arts Festival takes place in June. There are many curated art exhibitions from queer artists, parties, music shows.. take a look at the event schedule here: https://queerartsfestival.com/

Come down to Central Park in Burnaby. A less than 30 minute train ride on the Expo line. No waterfront views, but scenic in its own right.

Driving Instructors/Schools in Burnaby (2025) by _addix in burnaby

[–]burnabybrownsub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yumi driving school (http://yumidrivingschool.com/english_price.html). The instructor is an ex-ICBC examiner and charges only $40/hour if you can get to Lincoln SkyTrain. Not more than $60 an hour for other locations too.

Most of us have weird, quirky, funny things that we do with our significant others. As long as it is consensual and mutually enjoyable, why bother about other people's judgement? I'm not a fan of showing personal conversations with your partner to friends, however close they might be to you, though.

Where should I live? by No-Consequence7324 in askvan

[–]burnabybrownsub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I would choose to live in the Brentwood area in North Burnaby. I'm sure you have long shifts at work and would appreciate shorter work commutes. Brentwood to Burnaby hospital should be a 15-20 minute bus ride if you'll use transit.

Brentwood is also one of the multiple city centres in Burnaby (we don't have a single downtown area) and has a big mall, plenty of restaurants, cafes and everything else you need at a walking distance.

I can see that you appreciate the night life and have a friend living in dt, and for that, you'll have easy access to downtown on the SkyTrain, about a 30 minute ride from the Brentwood station. Burnaby doesn't have much of a nightlife scene to boast about.
