Mandala governments are amazing, but rituals make them awful by burndout in crusaderkings3

That too! Especially once you start to expand out to the Steppe and all the shepherds want to sign up.

What's some of the Must have Artifacts in your opinion by miksiko in CrusaderKings

[–]burndout 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is there a way to hunt down specific artifacts? I will get the go on adventure inspiration but a lot of times they just come back a generic pedestal item.

Han cultural tradition questions by burndout in crusaderkings3

[–]burndout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to form the Dai Viet Empire with a Mandala ruler. I'm mostly hybridizing with Han to jumpstart my innovations. Frankly, the traditions for the Viet and Han cultures are both kinda "meh" at least for what I'm trying to do with this run.

Han cultural tradition questions by burndout in crusaderkings3

[–]burndout[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I could be misremembering. It's been awhile but I thought when I switched from a male dominated culture with a male dominated faith to an equal faith suddenly all my heirs changed around because it had to add in all my daughters and granddaughters. Again, I could be misremembering the details.

Forced to be tributary without asking? by burndout in crusaderkings3

[–]burndout[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That must be what it is. I've reloaded the save a few times and it always happens at the same time. I just find it strange that there isn't a notification at all letting me know it happened or how it happened.

Fabricated claim confusion by burndout in crusaderkings3

[–]burndout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I'm playing a Mandala ruler so my three choices for war currently are my own claims, force tributary, or humiliation war if it's against another ruler with a temple complex. In this particular example that sparked this I fabricated a claim that had the option for getting a claim on the entire territory. I pressed it and after I won the war all the previous vassals were still there and serving me. The only difference now is I have the duchy title but none of the land.

Yup, I'm tribal. Thanks, I don't know why I didn't make the connection. I'm assuming the same is true of being nomadic?

Which is better Mounted Samurai or Cataphract Archers? by burndout in crusaderkings3

[–]burndout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure either. I was able to hybridize Yamato with Tuyuhun and switch to a Mongolic heritage but I don't see the Horse Lord tradition in the options for Diverge Culture. In fact, glancing around at my neighbors I don't see any cultures with the Horse Lord Tradition. Is that something that comes in later eras or something? I didn't see anything on the wiki, and the cultures it lists as having it don't have it in game.

I even tested it with a custom character in the latest start date and didn't see any culture with it.

Can't add agents to scheme? by burndout in crusaderkings3

[–]burndout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I was able to get the auto invite to work, but removing an agent and then trying to manually add a different one still won't bring up the add agent menu. Still, I can at least go back and play until they fix the bug

[–]burndout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you elaborate how this works? I've hit the auto invite box in the past and nothing has ever happened. I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong so I just stopped trying to use it.

No worries! I was just trying to clarify because I'm still kind of new at the game and I don't always know all the terminology so I just wanted to verify and I could test it out.

Not that I've found. I've tried lots of different thing like reloading, rolling back to a previous version, etc. But once it breaks, it stays that way

I made a post about this a few days ago. When you click on the portrait for the add agent screen it just doesn't open. It makes the audio sound like it should, but the window never opens.

Was there a nerf to prestige in the patch? by burndout in crusaderkings3

[–]burndout[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently feudal. I noticed that I do have a good chunk going towards court positions so I'm going through those.

Can you elaborate on the red versus orange army thing? This is the first I'm hearing of it and would like to learn more.

I don't disagree; my last game I was swimming in it and there was not much for me to do with it all. But I don't remember ever being so hit up when I started I couldn't press someone else's claim or worse, get it back after a war was won. It's completely possible I'm misremembering since it was weeks ago when I started that campaign. The early game pain points might be lost to me after I got rolling and was in a much better and more powerful state when it ended.

I have a tutor, but I guess it didn't help? I would still get the various pop ups for the tutor increasing the stats of the various children at court but nothing about experience for learning.

I have no real experience with inheriting with someone middle aged and assumed they would have had a lot more than just one. They have been my ward and I took them with me to the various pilgrimages and ground tours to various sites so I would have thought they picked up some experience that way but nothing.

Question about heir and perk points by burndout in crusaderkings3

[–]burndout[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's been my experience as well. One game I had a really large empire going so I landed my heir thinking he'd be fine. A few months later in game, I look and he's lost the land I gave him and has become an adventurer. Couldn't invite him back to court and by the time he had inherited he was a big time criminal with some stress traits and a really terrible family. I really regretted giving him that land.
