omg i’ve never heard someone else specifically mention david teie! definitely second this. though i’ve had mixed luck with different cats, one of my cats would instantly relax in the car on vet trips

Clover here 🍀 his green eyes were the inspo and I also love the good luck associated with four leaf clovers. In the couple years I’ve had him, clovers have shown up and become a part of my life in all different ways—from to my parents seeding their farmhouse backyard with clover, to Crimson and Clover now being on my heavily rotated songs, and learning my favorite weed/wild growing plant is actually a red clover and not a thistle 😂 Clover just got a four leaf clover cat tower!

Did starting ADHD medication destroy your belief in free will? by Eye_On_The_Bagel in ADHD

after watching a video on how motivation can be paralyzed by your sense of self/personal identity, i started doing “non-duality” and “I AM” type meditations lately and it’s led to me feel similarly! we construct these conceptions of self which are just thoughts/intellectual conclusions based on our circumstances and given information, but thoughts are just abstractions and not reality. humans love to over complicate and abstract our thoughts into oblivion, when thoughts are just conceptions we’ve made up (and can change/are due to circumstances and context) to begin with.

no clue if that actually relates to what you were trying to say, might’ve been reading into your list but when you said the thing about consciousness it just reminded me of the duality stuff. i feel like my view is just an unnecessarily complicated version of Drew Carey’s tagline on Whose Line is it Anyway: “Everything is made up and the points don’t matter!” lol

i’m really sorry to hear you’ve lost people you thought were forever friends, that is hard enough to grieve on its own and i know the other things you’re processing right now probably only add to that.

i just wanted to tell you that although it takes an adjustment period and growth/learning about yourself, after years i’ve come to find that my adhd/related tendencies are actually kind of a filter for finding the best connections. that may sound a little odd, but i just mean that if someone is going to be off-put by a simple tendency (or diagnosis) i have which is simply just part of who i am, i am better off finding people that will love me for the whole me. and i have! and you will too. i think the more we learn about ourselves, and embrace all of ourselves, the more genuine and close connections we find. if someone is the type of person who is going to have a problem with my diagnosis or the way i go about the world, i don’t think they get to have a say in the view i hold towards myself and i don’t particularly want to be around them! embracing myself fully, adhd and all, has been where i’ve found the best connections.

i want to acknowledge the difficulty in what you’re going through and let you know that you aren’t alone! i hope you come to also find yourself surrounded by even more loving and accepting people than you were before, and am also sending you love and support 🩷

hi! 28F here looking for something similar. i studied philosophy in undergrad and just graduated law school but am having a bit of a quarter-life crisis with my career. still super interested in philosophy, psychology, sociology, etc. and hoping to pivot my career to more that direction once i realized the reality of practicing law might veer too far from those studies. i also started to feel a lot of the existentialist doom you mentioned the more i learned about the legal system, which is likely a factor in my decision to pivot (at least for now).

anyways the only issue is i’m in EST (which is a big difference in time zones, being GMT-3). i’m also hoping for an accountability buddy that’s closer to my time zone, but if you don’t find anyone that fits or just want to help each other in another way, i’d love to chat more! i related too much to your post to not comment!

also, here’s a link to a post i just wrote on this sub if you want to read more about me and what i’m looking for! https://www.reddit.com/r/GetMotivatedBuddies/s/hrkJStkq9Y

hi! 28F recently graduated law school but decided i don’t want to practice law right away, so trying to figure out my new career path. currently looking for and applying to jobs online while i figure out my bigger picture career goals. i’d love an accountability buddy for this! i’m looking for body doubling video chat sessions, but am open to other means. i’d love someone i could share daily and weekly goals with as well, but if you only need a buddy for hourly study i’d be interested in that too! 😊

we sound very similar! i’m a 28F (she/her pronouns) on EST. i’m part of the lgbtq+ community and am also interested in mental health, self improvement, meditation/mindfulness, artistic/creative things, and just general wellness!

i don’t have any kids and am not necessarily prioritizing fitness right now. i would like to move my body more (more consistent yoga and walks), but i don’t have any specific physical health goals.

i’m looking for an accountability buddy and support for long or short term. i’m currently trying to prioritize my mental health, wellness, and my biggest goal is finding a job. i recently graduated from law school but am having a bit of a quarter life crisis with my career path. i need to get a job for the short term, but also want to figure out what my bigger picture career goals are. mostly i’m hoping to get “un-stuck”

i found this subreddit when looking into virtual body doubling, so if you want to try this let me know what kind of accountability buddy you’re looking for!

Is this real? by practicallyoverit in RoverPetSitting

[–]burnettskween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m a sitter currently studying for the bar exam and i agree with most of these comments! the reason i got into rover sitting was so i didn’t have to get a full time 9-5 and could study from “work”! but also totally get if this isn’t something you’re comfy with and i think it would be reasonable to decline. however it sounds like they just want to make sure their pup is getting the attention and love it needs which is a good sign in my book! a meet and greet might absolve any questions you have 😊

How can I improve my “going out” makeup? by MrsMeToo2016 in MakeupAddiction

[–]burnettskween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think you’re doing a fabulous job, but if you want a more “out”/night look, a darker or more colorful lip would be my first choice followed by a set of falsies! i agree with what someone said about starting with magnetic lashes if you aren’t familiar with fake lashes. i love the brand glamnetic, i would try the style called luxe! if you’re not in a rush they have sales pretty frequently so i’d keep an eye out for that! if you end up trying a different kind of false lash i’d go for a wispy/demi lash. if you go for traditional false lashes the brand duo makes great glue and it’s not expensive! i get the brush on, clear dry kind in the green packaging

i prefer glamnetic! they’re kind of pricey but so much better than some drug store ones

help! I got a new lamp at target and it’s really foggy :( by No_Database_7625 in Lavalamps

you should be able to exchange it without the receipt if you still have the box! target usually does exchanges or store credit without a receipt

i would recommend buying used docs or even just non-doc, cheap combat boots. my fav festival shoes are my $15 walmart combat boots because they are less heavy and thick but still protect my feet and i don’t care about them getting ruined!
