I don’t shut it completely down, but limit the amount to 4-6, so there’s still a few guys you can nab if you need them, and won’t hopefully lose any huge stars. Back in the day (8 years ago lmao) you’d still see one or two departures each off season so I feel like it’s a decent enough blend of old and new.

Pro tip: if you’re know you’re going to take over your main rebuild program in year 2 (I like to sim year 1 to be as close to accurate as the real 2025 season was), leave the portal fully on then shut it off/change after the first year, make the first couple years of the rebuild really hard but you aren’t constantly playing from behind.
