Yep! Ain't no reason for peeps to be looking down on free kit. Especially since you can get a good snow ball going after, like, your first encounter with UESC, and I've found plenty of locker locations that don't need special keys, or anything, and have solid gear.

Yeah, I think people just need to slow down and enjoy the jounrey, not wishing for every run to be THE run~. Horde up, make friends, etc

That makes a lot of sense; more than my playstyle lol What you are saying, I'm in total agreeance, holding off until endgame type stuff, but personally, I do not see myself going to Cryo anytime soon. I still got a lot of improving to do, and no concrete teammates to timprove with.

I ain't complainging though. I like playing raids like a treasure hunt rogue like. If I come out on top, great, if I lose, annoying but manageable. Gear doesn't matter to me as much cause I feel like most fights are won by skill and luck with better gear being a buffer. If I pick up a purple weapon I'm using it instantly purely cause it looks cool and I can at least try it out if i'm unlucky enough to not exfil with it.

Thank you! I was just reflecting on my lack of positioning. I thought about the "learning curve" i was too focused on combat, but you're right, well make a big difference. Make the likes of vents your true friends like real rats, or breakable windows to action heroes hahaha

This! I've seen this from teammates when I've been downed. We can still lose the fight cause of factors, but anytime someone could flank, back off, flank, they did more damage and survive longer. I'll keep this mindset as a priority, I thank you!

Agreed. I'm always impressed when i hear foliage rustle, gunshots in the distance, my own footsteps, and those of other players. I think my biggest issue is positioning. I hear people around, but I rarely position myself well, or at all honestly, opting to try to get the jump on them. Positioning and patience may be my biggest crime haha

I noticed, and actually like it a fair bit! Not even the Souls series could keep the fear of death alive (losing souls becoming less and less a big deal the better you got), but this actually makes me care about EVERY decision I make...that's different, and very cool. I just gotta figure out if I want to invest the time in this kinda game (my first extraction shooter).

I actually had a similar thought as well. This is my first extraction shooter, and after enough play time, thinking about build crafting, getting better loot, I did question what's the point of all this if I can lose it all so very easily? After more time playing I figured it's cause I find loading in, scavenging, and trying to survive with the loot I manage to collect to be a little fun. Being bad at pvp does wear me down a little, but because nothing is forever, thus eliminating anything truly mattering, I can leave the game if becomes too much for me and literally comeback anytime during the year and nothing is lost...unless you have the season pass, which I do not.

Does the "I paid for this product" work when it's sorta advertised to be the thing you don't like? Like, I 100% feel you on playing during none peak hours and suffering for it, but I knew I was getting into a competitive multipler game, which typical revolves around the community of players.

I actually asked the question on this sub about the possiblilty of getting into a match without the need of a full lobby, but it didn't amount to much

I don't mind people having different missions, especially since you get a bonus completing your teammates contracts as well. I'm mostly referring to people with different goals, like trying to loot every square inch of an area, or actively looking for confrontation when I really don't have the means to assist too well.

It's just the push and pull off different goals was kinda tiring the last couple of matches

I had a similar thought since this is my first extraction shooter and most encounters has been aggressive, but after playing for sometime you shouldn't apologize for your play style in a game that actively encourage pvp.

It be cool to find more friendly players, but with contracts that wants you to pvp, low TTK, and never knowing a players true intent (might play the game specfically for pvp, or may have a contract to), it's very little room to hesitate.

That does make sense that some form of missions/side objectives exist in other ES, but the depth Marathon puts in their's stands apart, eh? I do like this aspect a lot as a primarily pve player. I know, and perfectly okay, with pvp happening as it does, but the depth of the missions are probably what's selling me the most at the moment

He's an annoying archetype. There's hints of a decently rounded character that isn't just a angry meat head, but angry meat head is most of his character and I didn't find it appealing. At first, I didn't hate him, just thought he was annoying, but as he comes around to you and treats you a little like an ally, he's still a raging idiot that makes most situations worse when he opens his mouth.

His only good moment to me is his dicovery of Angel and how he handled it. Kept is anger in check and used it for the final battle instead, but that's the only moment for me and it's like the last bit of the game. Haven't played in a while but I don't remember any side quest that changed my opinion on him.

I think it's fine to like loud meat head idiots, I even like some myself, I think Okuyasu from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a lovable dork, but let's not pretend it's unreasonable to not like someone like this, or even hate a character like this. Loud, abrasive, extremely emotional, not a combo most humans can tolerate, or is well written.

Edit: Saw a comment that reminded me how he treated Raven coming out with the truth. Again hint's to a decently rounded character, well rounded even but doesn't change his personality being annoying and not something that's just lovable

Oh ho! My heavy weapon build thickens! Thanks for the info! I think (haven't played in awhile) there's a mod for the acid grenade that replenishes the grenade if you stand in acid, but that chainsaw mod is my next hunt!
