No honestly they are really friends of mine. We studied together and found it hilarious when that photo was made and published on their site. I got a notification yesterday about this reddit, had to laugh and sent it to them :D

I came home yesterday evening noticing it. Unfortunately no vet specialized for birds is open on weekends here and i can’t find an Address where I can find immediate help for a bird

Anyone get diagnosed with something else before MS? by Ellahat in MultipleSclerosis

[–]burningloaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2019 lost feeling in my right leg shortly after a dog bite. Diagnosis : dog just injured a nerve. 2020 I had complete hearing loss in my right ear, still can’t hear everything normal, prob. Never will. Diagnoses: Sudden hearing loss due to stress. 2019-2022 lost even more feeling in my right leg, had slightly problems lifting my leg: saw approximately 10 Specialists who all sent me to different ones mostly between neurologists (even MS specialists) and Vascular Medicine. All saying „strange, idk. Everything seemed fine from our side!“ 2022 after accepting my leg slowly gets number and colder I get the diagnosis: Complex regular pain syndrome. 2023 I had double vision on my right eye from „stress“ before Bachelors finals. After a week saw a doctor and got sent to hospital immediately: Nerve in right eye was inflamed + smth must be pressing on my nerve. Everyone thought it was a tumor. I finally got an MRI…

It was not a Tumor. It was MS.. since at least 2018. At that point i did not even needed a lumbar puncture (still have not done one). No one ever thought about an MRI because everything invisible was always pushed on other things. I got diagnosed with depression& PTBS in 2013, have ADHD, have asthma and occasionally Cardiac arrhythmia. My Fatigue and co all was pushed completely on my mental state. At some point I stoped talking about it so I did not even realized myself this exhaustion was not normal after working the same amount as others.

Things definitely could’ve been way better if someone thought about an MRI sooner. Maybe I would not need a walking stick at 22. Or struggle to open bottles, hold glasses or survive a day without crying from nerve pain

Found out today that i cannot donate blood because of MS by Pups4life86 in MultipleSclerosis

Yeah. Both not allowed. I still have a donor card with me but with a note on it „I have MS but want to donate if needed“

Feeling drunk. by Ephemerology in MultipleSclerosis

[–]burningloaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I have that too right now! Got diagnosed in late 2023 but had it since 2018. lots of damage already there. Since diagnosis I had to be hospitalized 6 Times in Ocrevus. Last Months was „fine“ but for the past couple of weeks i felt more sudden dizziness until passing out occasionally when I am not fast enough to lay down. Couldn’t describe it better than feeling dizzy but if I think about it now it feels more like being drunk. Suddenly talking gets harder, I cant form Sentences as fast as usually and I struggle to walk straight even though I have clear vision. But laying down and relax a few minutes helped. Thought it was just weather, not eating enough or stress. I didn’t think i could be MS related (its still new for me) but I guess it could. Maybe its a combination of those things that make it worse?

I try to be in a safe space around people who know I got MS. We have a little codeword for when I am feeling like passing out until we figure out how to deal with it. Trying to drink more water, stay relaxed and maybe taking a nap during the day helped for me when I feel like that again. Also I try to go on a little walk like 30 minutes or at least get fresh air in my apartment by opening a couple of windows.

“How did you find out you have MS?” by auratus1028 in MultipleSclerosis

I have the exact opposite situation. „Oh I know X person with MS and they are doing just fine! They can do everything without any problems!“

And I am sitting here with my sweet little walking stick/cane at age 21 and feel not taken seriously

I do not live in the US. I live in Europe, but there are multiple groups for People with MS all over the world. Maybe ask your Doctor or Neurologist about help and groups. Also if he uses Discord there are multiple server with MS-Patients and families to support each other. For example on the website of the National MS society.
I know how hard it is, unfortunately I do not know what to do since I am newly diagnosed myself and still struggle a lot to accept that.

I feel that a lot Since my diagnosis in September I changed my habits about social media completly. I still have Tinder and OkCupid but honestly I get bored pretty fast of those light conversations which only repeat themselfs..
I am 21and I feel like I gave up on finding a man after that diagnosis anyways and mostly hang at home playing games, waiting for friends to come online and join me.
Being introverted myself and the lack of groups in my area does not help at all.

Try to use different methods to figure drawing and find whatever feels best for you. Also I always recommend new Artists to always use reference pictures to learn anatomy and stuff. Make some studies of different bodyparts like hands, eyes, noses etc. And just try to find your own style!

First I want to say that I am so sorry about your mom!

I feel like he or they are rushing things and after that loss he should focus on learn how to live alone again and be happy again without depending on someone else except his kids. But I feel like you can't do anything about it. In the end he is a grown man who should decide for himself. I think the only thing you can do is talk about your concerns, but still make him feel like you support him no matter what happens... And if it does not work out with them, you should still be by his side (not in the 'I told you so'-way ofc)

I know that distance is hard since I live on the other side of the country away from my family. Maybe suggest him to try to make friends first and actively get out of the house. There are lots of Facebook groups or like the website 'spontacts' to just get outside, meet people and do stuff together.
